Sorry as usual we’re so busy making the things that we don’t have as much time to POST about the things!!!!

✨anyway, so, SO many of you have been enjoying all the summer hits and there’s still more to come!!
✨today you’ll get some of the last week (s?) of NJ organic sweet corn and then that will switch to the joyful NJ ORGANIC BLUEBERRY-CORN (oh!), we’re also starting the day with local & RARE organic plum with fennel & berries (with local and organic fennel!) and later today/this weekend/next week (depending) we’ll have fresh, local nectarine sorbet, organic dragonfruit lemonade, lemon hop sorbet (with The Fir Farm-Hops, Bees and Christmas Trees hops!), heirloom tomato-peach and MORE!
✨ALL THE GRATEFUL THANKS not only for all the local farmers/producers/transporters for braving it all to grow/make/drive all this wonderful stuff to us, but also to all of you who have been cooperating with us on keeping the sidewalk and other storefronts clear while you’re waiting in line, the extra brainiacs who come on Monday at open (& therefore can get the store to themselves… ha!), and just everyone who loves to take the time to slow down and enjoy the view of summertime in good ‘ol Princeton, NJ.

✨oh! a spoon-made carrot cake (with LOCAL/ORGANIC carrots, pecans, special spices, etc!) swirled right into a delicious cream cheese ice cream MADE WITH PHILLY’S OWN PERRYSTEAD DAIRY’s cheese: the “real philly schmear” !oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
✨even though we always WANT to make this during the summer, we almost never can get to it because, you know.... so many locally grown herbs🌱 and berries🍓🫐 and stone fruit 🍑🍒and rhubarb and melons🍉🍈 and corn🌽 and ON AND ON AND ON. But, when Yoav over at Perrystead calls and said they made extra schmear - WE HAVE TO MAKE THE 🥕CARROT CAKE ICE CREAM.

✨the weather has been so outrageously beautiful here in Princeton that I don’t really have the time to wax poetic like I want to about this sorbet, and really, rose and other scented geraniums in general. so much to say, so little time!

✨just know that the whole “scented geranium” situation is magic. and not the way just about everything is 🪄magic🪄 these days, BUT REALLY the kind of magic that nature casts and I AM HERE FOR IT!!!!
AND THE BYPRODUCT OF THIS TRICKERY IS ALSO SO DELICIOUS!
✨in the case for scooped until it’s not and sorry no pints today. If we can make more we will! hope you get to taste this moment in time here in NJ!

🫐🍑BLUEBERRY MASCARPONE IS BACK AND WE HAVE PROCURED SOME EAST COAST PEACHES!
✨🫐thankfully the new jersey organic blueberries are deliciously wonderful so far and we are happy to start having the beloved and highly anticipated BLUEBERRY MASCARPONE back in the case today. Creamy with that unmistakable purple hue! We’re well over 150 # in already and it will keep making appearances in the case!
✨🍑after the damaging weather this spring, we were so grateful to get some east coast peaches via Solebury Orchards which we made into a refreshing peach and organic raspberry sorbet. Combine that with the (still growing strong) basil ice cream and you’d have a rare summer treat of a PEACH-RAZ & BASIL creamcicle!!

🍦📸: CHOCOLATE with chocolate-covered WAFER CONES!
✨for I don’t know how many years (more than 5, less than 14??) we have made ice cream for this really cool program sponsored by Princeton University’s Department of Music and (GET THIS)...... the Edward T Cone Institute!!!!
✨the connection on why we donate ice cream to it is obvious, isn’t it?...the guy’s last name is CONE for goodness sakes! The prestigious program allows 4 emerging composers all kinds of cool perks (look it up!), culminating in a world premier of their works at the famed Richardson Auditorium. They get to eat some version of a cone ice cream each year at the end of it, tickets holders get a discount at the shop all weekend (when they show their tickets), AND you get to try it because we also have it in the case starting today!
✨This year we took ORGANIC WAFER CONES (that we’ve never had in the shop before, ever!) chocolate covered them & then swirled them into our classic and wonderful fair trade chocolate ice cream!!!!!

✨Yes there are also pints!
✨Congrats to this year’s composers!

✨Spoonies have been hard at work shucking & husking & we will keep making it (and the other versions!!) as long as we can keep getting this fantastic looking and tasting local and organically-grown corn!!!! It will come in and then go out and come in again.

RARE ALERT!🚨
🎥🍿🍎"POSION APPLE" SORBET & "GOOSEBERRY PIE" ICE CREAM FOR PALMER SQUARE'S JULY MOVIE NIGHT!
✨oh magic mirror which one is the fairest of the two? ✨
✨social commentary aside, the original 1937 Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs is a BEAUTIFUL, ENTIRELY HAND DRAWN AND PAINTED movie. Such an artistic rarity in these days of assisted everything!
🐦‍⬛🦊🐿️speaking of an assist, DO YOU REMEMBER HOW SNOW WHITE GOT THE GOOSEBERRIES FOR THE GOOSEBERRY PIE SHE MADE?
It was all the sweet little woodland animals prancing around! Now, we didn't gather the gooseberries via our local fox forager this time, but we did get some fantastic gooseberry jam from VT's own Cold Hollow Cider Mill that we made into a "pie" with an organic graham cracker crust! We swirled all of that into a creamy mascarpone ice cream and p**f! deliciousness!
🍎🍎🪞and because the story of snow white wouldn't be snow white without the whole apple arc, we were able to get some delicious organic apples and make them into a wonderfully refreshing vegan sorbet with cinnamon & "poisoned" it all with with organic dragonfruit 🐉 ooo! scary! (& fushia!)
✨And all of this nonsense is just for fun, for a little bit of extra memory-making while you're watching this true Disney classic on the green...tonight, Friday at 8:30 PM.
WE WILL PUT THIS IN THE CASE AROUND 5PM so there should be plenty of both for the movie.
