From the bottom of my heart, today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a reminder of the courage, service, and lives given so we could have the freedoms we often take for granted.

To those who never made it home, to the families carrying that loss, and to all who have served and continue to serve — thank you will never feel like enough. We remember you today and always. ❤️💙

Sassy Family — I just had to share this because WOW 😍🍔

BEST. BURGER. EVER. - and sourdough hamburger buns are officially next on my list.!

We stocked the freezer with 30 pounds of Primal Acres 85/15 grass fed ground beef and my husband made smash burgers tonight with caramelized onions and double cheese… and I genuinely don’t think I can go back to store-bought beef after this.

The flavor is unreal. Rich, juicy, flavorful, and it actually tastes like REAL beef. Even the smell when it hit the grill was enough to make me stop and say okay… now I get the hype around local grass fed beef.

And honestly? This burger officially convinced me that sourdough hamburger buns need to happen next because I already know that combo would be insane.

This is the kind of food that reminds you what food is supposed to taste like. Real ingredients. Real farmers. Real flavor. 🔥

Their 85/15 ground beef is $6/lb and I can help get you set up with an order if you’d like! ☺️

✨ NEXT SUNDAY MAY 31st MARKET ✨

What better way to kick off summer than with s’mores around the campfire? 🤎🔥

This week I’ll have a brand new creation at the market —
S’mores Sourdough Bread 🍫🍞

Made with rich chocolate chunks, gooey marshmallow, buttery graham cracker crumble, and warm cinnamon folded into my long-fermented sourdough dough. Finished with a darker rustic crust and baked fresh right here in my Sassy Sourdough kitchen. Eeeeeeeekkk! I love how this one turned out. 😍

It smells like summer nights, bonfires, and childhood memories. ✨

Available next Sunday while supplies last 🤎 I’ll probably have about 6!

Hope everyone is having an amazing start to their Memorial Weekend 🤍

I’m spending some time out where I can hear myself think, let my nervous system reset, and let my mind rest a little. Just sitting in nature, writing down plans for next weekend’s market, dreaming up ideas for Primal Acres and thinking about future goals and where life is headed next.

Sometimes you just need quiet, fresh air, and a little firelight to reconnect with yourself again.

Love you all. ✨

This page started with sourdough, but somewhere along the way it became so much more than bread. ❤️

Baking and creating have brought so much joy, healing, and some truly beautiful people into my life that I genuinely can’t imagine not having now. This kindness meant more to me than words can explain. 🫶

There is no way I could not share this. It blessed me in such a beautiful way. This person (and her sweet pup!) is an absolute godsend and such a sweet soul 🤍

OMG. I’m not even exaggerating when I say these are the BEST muffins I’ve ever made. 🤎

Perfectly soft, insanely moist, bakery-style tops, melty chocolate chips, crunchy walnuts, and rich homemade flavor that only sourdough discard can give. They came out even better than I hoped 😍

Yes - I am excited over muffins 😂

- Sourdough Banana Chocolate Chip & Sourdough Banana Walnut for the win 🙌🏻

It’s Sunday morning. 🤍

If I’m being honest, Friday and Saturday were extremely heavy for me in a very personal way. The kind of heavy that makes you want to shut the world out and stay buried underneath it all.

But this morning, I decided I don’t want the dark moments to keep deciding the tone of my life or my week. They won’t define me anymore.

I got up this morning, opened up my curtains and windows to let that fresh air and little glimpse of sunshine in and made something new. Sourdough banana chocolate chip muffins - made with very little sugar… and honestly, they turned out so comforting and delicious.

The truth is, Sassy Sourdough was never just about bread or baking for me. It started during some of the hardest seasons of my life as a way to navigate grief, healing, heartbreak, and rebuilding myself piece by piece. The vision of my business is becoming more and more clear.

I think I’m finally ready to start being more honest about that story — even the darker parts — because I know there are people out there silently struggling too. People trying to survive things nobody else can see. The things they are terrified of sharing.

You are not too far gone.
You are not a lost cause.
Healing is possible, even when it feels painfully slow. No matter how heavy or dark it is.

Thank you for being here, for supporting this little business, and for allowing me to share pieces of my heart through it.

I love you all and hope you have a beautiful Sunday. 🤍

Hey Community 🤍

Some words of wisdom and encouragement for you today 🤗

Just like sourdough, some things can’t be rushed…

Bread needs time to rest.
Time to rise.
Time to ferment slowly into what it was meant to become.

And honestly… so do people.

I think I’ve spent a long time trying to push through exhaustion, stress, grief, health issues, and life in general - believing I always had to “keep going” no matter how empty I felt. But this season has been teaching me that rest is part of the process too.

Not every season is meant for overworking.
Not every season is meant for constant output.

Some seasons are for healing.
For slowing down.
For rebuilding quietly behind the scenes.

The funny thing is… nobody questions the sourdough process. We understand that good bread takes time. Slow fermentation creates better flavor, better texture, better results.

But when it comes to ourselves, we expect instant healing and nonstop productivity.

Lately I’ve been trying to remind myself that rest is not failure.
It’s preparation.
It’s restoration.
It’s part of becoming.

So if you’ve been feeling stretched thin lately, maybe this is YOUR reminder too:
You are allowed to slow down.
You are allowed to breathe.
And you do not have to earn rest. 🤍

Between Sassy Sourdough, markets, and now working with Primal Acres, life has definitely been full lately — but in the best way and I have LOVED it! I’ve been helping with customer communication, marketing, orders, admin work, and a lot of the day-to-day behind the scenes stuff, and I’ve genuinely loved being part of it. 🤍

We brought home one of their briskets this week and my husband smoked it yesterday for dinner and we had some family over. He smoked it at 275 until it hit 205 internal, then rested it in the oven at 150 for about 2 hours. It turned out absolutely amazing. Super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor with the best bark on the outside. 🔥

One thing I’ve really noticed working with Primal Acres is how much they care about quality. You can truly taste the difference in fresh, well-raised meat. Not to mention - they are just some of the greatest people you’ll ever meet 🤗

They offer all kinds of beef, pork, steaks, and bulk meat options, and honestly I couldn’t have ended up working with better people. They also offer farm fresh eggs, raw milk, chicken, etc.

So between the sourdough baking and now smoked brisket around here, our house has smelled pretty incredible lately. 😂

If anyone has questions about ordering or wants information on what they offer, feel free to message me anytime! 🥩🌾
