Loreley Treats

Loreley Treats The Pretty Cookie Shop offering Springerle, Shortbread, Gingerbread, Honeycakes, Custard Creams, Speculaas, created with cookie molds Out of state can pick up.

Our cookies are hand crafted using old world style cookie molds which today are made with a variety of woods, resins and acrylics by the mold makers. Our recipes are derived from old world recipes combined with modern day twists on flavors. A note from Wikipedia about Springerle: Springerle is a type of South German biscuit or cookie with an embossed design made by pressing a mold onto rolled doug

h and allowing the impression to dry before baking. This preserves the detail of the surface pattern. While historical molds show that springerle were baked for religious holidays and secular occasions throughout the year, they are now most commonly associated with the Christmas season. Today we enjoy Springerle, gingerbreads, shortbreads, and Specula's throughout the year for many special occasions and holidays. All painted cookies are done so by hand using FDA approved luster dusts and colorings. These can be customized to your favorite colors with your order. Please inquire for your next special occasion. We always have current offerings, as well as custom orders. Our cookies are meant to be enjoyed year round. Watch for our posts for what we are up to now. Local pick up, and inquire for delivery or drop off. No out of state shipping or delivery, in Idaho shipping is available.

I would especially like to thank Gayle for this cookie order for her father-in-law. She placed this order before my vacation accident, and has been the most patient customer waiting for me to be able to make these for her. She was a dream customer with the utmost of patience. Thanks again and I hope your father-in-law likes the cookies. Anise Kirsch Springerle.

Good morning all! Sort of good news the other day from my post-surgery check up with the doctor but we still need to do a CAT scan cuz one of the screws looks a little wonky to the doctor. Trying to do light duty things for baking, and thought I would dehydrate some pumpkin for future cookies. This is eight cups of pumpkin puree, from pumpkins from my garden that I'd had in the freezer. The last picture you can see how many grams of pumpkin powder I got.

Hi All! I'm still here, re-cooperating from surgery. Hoping to be back to baking very soon. Today is the first day I am on the computer besides my phone. My home office is upstairs and I require supervision on stairs so have been reserving those times for getting into my walk in shower, priorities.
Well, my supervisor, AKA husband has a few extra hours this morning before he heads out so here I am. Time to get caught up on emails, and my website, it's been since July 9th.
I am still hoping to be at Valley Vista Craft Shows in September. I get sutures out this coming Monday and thinking I will be able to handle standing to make cookie dough after that. What a ride it's been I'll tell you.
For those of you on my personal page you know what happened, but to the rest of you, I will tell you the story. While on vacation to the Oregon Coast, Brookings OR, we traveled down to the Trees of Mystery Redwood Forest south of Crescent city California. Upon arriving, I was gawking at flowers in the landscaping, didn't see a parking curb in the parking lot, and face planted. I sprained my left elbow and wrist, banged up my chin, (think I still need to have the dentist check my jaw), and broke my right knee cap completely in half.
After the hospital did not address the open wound on my knee before I left the ER, the wound got infected and I was unable to have a speedy surgery to repair the knee cap until the infection was cleared up. So three weeks after I broke it, I was able to have surgery and am in a very long recovery period. Zero movement of my knee for at least 30 days, yes, I am in a brace, then on to small increased allowed movement and physical therpy after that.
You have no idea how I am going crazy not doing anything. I need to bake! I can't even get out to the garden.
Hope for good things coming soon is all I can say. This girl is itching to get back into it!!
Best wished to you all as the summer comes to it's end, enjoy those days.

Hello Folks! I am back from vacation 5 days early, due to injuries incurred while vacationing. I wanted to let you know as early as I could that I have had to cancel my next two markets at Marina 33 Post Falls sadly. I still need to see the Orthopedic surgeon so I can determine any further beyond that at this time. I am hopeful I can still do Valley Vista Craft Shows but we will see.

Well folks, this last weekend's event was the last, until August that is. My husband and I will be headed on an almost three week vacation, beginning with a July 4th celebration with family at my sisters house in Sandpoint, and then heading to the Oregon coast the the rest of the time, stopping on the way there and the way back at some wonderful places. I am intent on seeing the Puffins!
I wish you all a great summer, and I will be at one market only for August, at Marina 33 Post Falls August 9th. I have concluded that my cookies just don't handle the heat of these summer markets well, and frankly, neither do I, lol.
Sept and Oct I have some wonderful events lined up and am so looking forward to all of those.
And to all that came out to the Hippie Cow boutique craft and market this last weekend, didn't we have fun!!! A wonderful location and host and I can't wait to do another one out there. Thanks so much to all who visited my booth ♥ the weather cooperated considering, and didn't rain, though Sunday could have been warmer. No fears though that heat is coming!

Oh my goodness, I just love my new packaging for my rhubarb cookies. Last time I ordered they only had the baby blue available, but they finally had the aqua in the stock and I stocked up!

It was truly an incredible weekend! I can't thank everyone enough, from customers that stopped to visit our booth, to the other vendors who were all amazing and kind, to the fair coordinators who learn more each year and really do such a fantastic job.

Everywhere you looked, a gallant knight or finely dressed lady could be seen under sunny skies as the Sandpoint Renaissance Faire welcomed a record-setting number of people looking to capture a taste of medieval life.
