🍂 IT’S CAKE DAY! 🍂

The first pickup of our new Cake of the Month Club season is officially here — and 29 slices of Autumn Harvest are heading out into the world today! Another 21 will follow over the next two days, which means 50 slices of cake are making their way to our Cake Club folks this month. 🥹🎂

October’s cake is Autumn Harvest: spiced carrot cake layered with rich brown butter frosting, plus a little ramekin of homemade spiced apple butter on the side — because sometimes more is more. 🍎🤎

It’s cozy, warmly spiced, a little unexpected, and basically everything we want to eat when the air starts getting crisp.

To everyone picking up today: we hope you love it. And to all 50 of you who joined us for this Cake of the Month season, thank you for letting us bake something special for you every month. 🧡

🎂✨ 50 SLICES. SOLD OUT. ✨🎂

We’re honestly a little blown away.

When we launched our first Cake of the Month Club, we crossed our fingers and hoped we could find 30 people who wanted to go on this wild little cake adventure with us.

You did. 💛

So this time, we got brave and made 50 subscriptions available.

AND YOU BOUGHT EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. 😭🎉

That’s 20 more Cake Club members than our first round—and our new four-month cake adventure starts THIS SUNDAY!

To every person who subscribed, came back for another round, told a friend about us, shared a post, bought a slice at a market, or cheered on this tiny little bakery: THANK YOU.

The Cake Lab PDX is still so new, and every time you choose to spend your money with our little q***r-owned bakery, it means more to us than you probably realize.

We’ve packaged up hundreds of Cake-Stuffed Cookies, Loaded Brownies, and Loaded Lemon Blondies, and today we’re finishing up our cake slices and getting everything ready for a BIG day tomorrow.

We’ll be joining 90 q***r Portland small business owners and vendors for a day of shopping, community, and (obviously) a whole lot of cake. 💕🌈

We’re officially counting down to the Rainbow Expo! 🏳️‍🌈🍰

On Saturday, September 26, The Cake Lab PDX will be serving up sliced cake, loaded brownies, and our brand-new, gloriously oversized cake-stuffed cookies.

🧪🍪 NEW EXPERIMENT JUST DROPPED:
CAKE-STUFFED COOKIES. 🍰

Because apparently just making cake wasn’t enough for us.

So we asked the very important scientific question: What happens if you take a giant cookie…and stuff it with CAKE?

The answer: THIS. 👆

Meet our brand-new Cake-Stuffed Cookies — a whopping 4.5 inches across and 7 ounces each, with a soft, chewy cookie on the outside and actual Cake Lab cake tucked inside.

Pictured here: ChocoLot 🍫 — our chocolate chip cookie stuffed with rich chocolate cake. Yes, it’s as over-the-top as it sounds.

We’re bringing our ChocoLot cookies to the ORPIB Rainbow Expo later in the month …And ChocoLot won’t be alone! 👀 TWO OTHER cake-stuffed cookie flavors will be debuting alongside this one and our other Cake Lab creations. 🏳️‍🌈 Come be one of the first to try them!

¡Buenos días! ☀️🇪🇸

The Cake Lab has been a little quiet for the past couple of weeks because we were off on a Spanish adventure! And yes… many croissants, churros, cakes, and other baked goods were seen and consumed. 😋🥐🍰

But we’re back — and we have a VERY exciting announcement!

🏳️‍🌈 The Cake Lab PDX will be at the very first Oregon Pride in Business Rainbow Expo on Saturday, September 25 from 10am–6pm! 🏳️‍⚧️

And even more exciting for us: this will be Cake Lab’s very first tabling event! We’ve been busy dreaming, planning, baking, and figuring out exactly what we want to bring, and we cannot wait.

Come join us and 90+ q***r and trans vendors at this FREE event! Shop the Big Gay Marketplace with 60+ vendors, visit nonprofit organizations, connect with q***r-owned businesses and service providers (need a q***r handyperson, housecleaner, or legal support by chance? 👀), and then make your way to the food court…

…where you’ll find us. 🍰🔬

We’ll be sharing more soon about exactly what Cake Lab is bringing, but here’s a little preview:

We had so much fun creating this western-inspired cake to celebrate Archie’s 90th birthday!

Vanilla sponge layered with vanilla faux cream cheese frosting and vanilla buttercream, then decked out rodeo-style with cow print sides, a bold red buttercream border, fondant rope, and all the western details — boots, hats, stars and more. ⭐️👢🤎

Happy 90th, Archie! We hope this next trip around the sun is one of the very best yet. ❤️
