As we passed the 1-year mark in December, I can say with all my heart that Kumare was the best thing that happened to me during the pandemic because it brought me closer to this amazing Filipinx community in PDX (and beyond). We served over 5,000 ensaymadas! And while there were a lot of stressful sleepless nights and definitely some tears, it was all worth it to meet so many wonderful folks. 💜
2022 means another year of growth for Kumare. Me (Ada) and my sister (Carla) started this together, and I couldn't have come this far without her support. This year, she's stepping back to refocus on pursuing her own path and will be moving to the Midwest . (I’m going to miss her so much 😭) As I look ahead to 2022, I am taking some time before Spring to pause and redefine my vision for Kumare.
My goal has always been to create vegan Filipinx food for my friends and family (that's all of you!). As I work to bring more food to the community, I would love to hear from you! Feel free to comment below about...
