The CDC is reporting a cyclosporiasis outbreak tied to fresh produce, and that kind of breaking news can also give scammers an opening. If you get a text that mentions the outbreak and urges you to click a link, share personal information, or panic-buy something, slow down and verify it through the CDC or your local health department first. A real alert should inform you, not pressure you.

Now that school’s close to being in session, your students might be needing an excuse for not turning in homework on time. They could say the dog ate it (if the assignment was on paper). Or for digital work, they could claim file corruption or a submission glitch. However, there's one excuse teachers aren't going to buy from students who are using our internet service — an internet outage — because our fast internet provides 99.9% reliability. The dog might eat it. Our internet won’t drop it.
