My name is Novita Perry was born in Indonesia island of Java and I'm the home baker of Bass's Sugary Dough, our love for flour and sugar is the reason I started this whisky business, and I am excited to share it with you. I’m originally from Indonesia, born and raised on the island of Java (Central Java). I spent around 10 years working on cruise ships as a bartender, followed by nearly
5 years at a casino resort. And previous years of working at hotels/ resorts industries. Hospitality has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My passion for baking comes from my love of great food and exploring flavors from around the world. Traveling and working internationally shaped my palate, I also share this love of food with my son, who has been discovering new flavors since he was just 8 months old. My husband has no option other than following my food palate—and honestly, he’s doing just fine. I started my baking journey when COVID hit in 2019. During that time, I built my own sourdough starter from scratch and began baking nonstop (like what else to do? ). With endless practice and tons of samples to give away, the house quickly turned into flour-covered madness. What began as a way to stay busy and bring comfort during uncertain times slowly grew into a true passion—one that became Bass’s Sugary Dough. Bass is my son’s nickname from Sebastian AKA Seabass. Today, Bass’s Sugary Dough is the result of passion, patience, and a whole lot of flour. Every bake is made from scratch, created with love in my home kitchen. What started as a messy COVID hobby has turned into something I’m incredibly proud of—and I’m so excited to share a little sweetness from my kitchen with yours.
