Dear Black Men,

Thank you for being everything to the children in the world. They try to tear you down and separate you from your families, but I see so many of you fight and continue to give, often more than you receive, even when faced with adversity and mistreatment. I want you to know that I love and appreciate you. To those who take care of children, even those who aren't their own, you are truly amazing.

Seeing more Black fathers gain full custody of their kids deeply moves me. You are not making excuses; you are sacrificing everything to be there for your children. Years ago, efforts were made to separate Black families through programs like Section 8 and Food Stamps, aimed at making Black women feel independent and believe they didn't need you. But the truth is, we need you. We love you.

Please, never change. I hope you all have an amazing Father's Day. Even if you don't have a dollar to your name, you still find ways to ensure your kids have what they need. Thank you for your strength, your love, and your unwavering commitment.
