Haven’t met the person behind the bread? Hi, I’m Lauren! (Well aware this is a terrible picture - read the post!)
And this is quite literally what you’d see if you walked into my house right this second. Hair net? No ma’am. 😂 I’m trying to protect this long, unruly goddess hairso the silk cap is doing all the work! And in my hands is a very tasty brown sugar, cinnamon & walnut sourdough loaf.
A few things about me: I’m happy go lucky, sensitive, VERY punny and probably laugh at myself more than anyone else does. I have what I lovingly call undiagnosed ADHD, so watching me bake is basically entertainment for my family. Somehow between starting six things at once, forgetting why I walked across the kitchen, and yelling “OH! I forgot the…..” there’s always bread at the end and a lot of yelling at Alexa! 😂
Baking Brighter Days is truly a family affair. There are usually three sweet and slightly feral children running around, flour somewhere it shouldn’t be, and Jesse, my sweet husband, who has officially been deemed Head Dishwasher. 😂😂😂
I keep my prices as reasonable as I can because feeding a family is EXPENSIVE. I truly believe homemade, great quality, healthy-ish food should be tasty and affordable without taking a huge bite out of your grocery budget! (Another hill I’ll die on)
So I didn’t put on makeup or do my hair for a picture because… this is the baker. Silk cap, comfy clothes, feral children, flour everywhere, Jesse washing dishes and of course, me proudly holding another loaf of bread. Welcome to the real life behind Baking Brighter Days which is a little chaotic, a whole lot of love, and almost always smelling like fresh bread!
