Cupcake Club šŸ§: Spring Color Theory Cupcakes

This is color theory in buttercream. No pastels, full saturation, tulip energy.

Two color relationships doing all the work here:

Complementary colors are opposites on the color wheel. Pink and green sit directly across from each other which is exactly why they create that tension and contrast. Your eye canā€™t stop bouncing between them. Thatā€™s the pop.

Analogous colors are neighbors on the wheel. The red bows and pink ruffles sit right next to each other so they layer with warmth without competing. The yellow accents do the same thing near the green. They support the contrast instead of fighting it.

Save this for the next time youā€™re stuck on a color combo. Pick your main color, find its opposite, and start from there. Pick a third color thatā€™s next to either and you have a color combination that actually works.

This dainty vintage bird nest cupcake is your spring dessert table moment , and it only takes two piping tips.

How to make it:
Step 1. Using the flat ice method create your smooth buttercream base.

Step 2. With your Wilton 233 grass tip layer circles of buttercream on top of each other to build your nest.

Step 3. Pipe short grass in the center to stabilize it. Thatā€™s where your eggs or candy go.

Step 4. I use candied almonds but any egg or chocolate option works. Odd numbers only. Trust me.

Step 5. With your Wilton 3 round tip pipe small buttercream bows around the nest to accessorize.

Baby shower, Motherā€™s Day, spring anything. You put this on the dessert table and it becomes the thing everyone photographs.
