Marion County is made for a fall getaway with the ladies. Spend the afternoon shopping local, grab cocktails and dinner in one of our charming small towns, check into a cozy boutique stay, then slow things down with a walk along Lake Red Rock while the leaves are doing their thing.

No packed itinerary. No waking up at 6 a.m. to “make the most of the day.” Just good food, cute shops, pretty views and plenty of time to actually catch up.

A few weeks ago I went back to Ohio, where I was born, to visit some of the places and faces that shaped me.

This is the restaurant that my Mom and Dad owned when my Mom was pregnant with me.

Visiting and reconnecting with my roots reminded me why I started baking in my home kitchen. Everything we make comes from a heart of passion.

Stop by and say hi sometime; I'll share more of the story while you enjoy something fresh out of the oven.
