I took a community center cake decorating class in the 6th grade and I haven't looked back since!

Some of my cookies will be at Christmas a la Carte this weekend along with lots of other yummy baked goods! All proceeds benefit . Tickets are available at the door.

Aquamarine macarons with mermaid sprinkles is about as fun as it gets whether you are 8 or 18. 🧜🏻‍♀️ Filled with Nutella buttercream and caramel; boxed and tied up with a glittery purple ribbon. 💕It’s a good day for a special birthday.

Nutella buttercream, caramel sauce and chopped up Snickers candy bars sandwiched in pretty turquoise macaron shells? Yes, please.

This very cool gourd dish screams fall, does it not? It is hand painted and I hand picked it at the Empty Bowls fundraiser for The Agape Mission here in Bartlesville. These fine folks provide lunch almost daily in our community to those who need it. ❤️

Lemon Drop Bakeshoppe

I got the spark from my mom. Some of my fondest memories growing up are the colorful, creative cakes my mom whipped up with her hand mixer and baked in now vintage Wilton cake pans. The fan was flamed when I signed up for a cake decorating class when I was in 6th grade. I cake decorated part of my way through college at the local Hy-Vee bakery. Even though I moved overseas after college, I have continued to challenge myself for the last 20 years baking special birthday cakes, decorated sugar cookies, cookie cakes, cupcakes, and even the feared macaron for our three girls, always matching a party theme and color scheme.

I have a penchant for lemons, particularly after strongly craving anything lemon during two of my pregnancies. Years ago, while planning a bakeshop birthday party for our 9-year-old, I dreamed up the name ‘Lemon Drop Bake Shoppe’. At the time we were happily living overseas, and this was just an idea that I tucked far away as I continued baking for my family, friends and for school parties.

My daughters have often asked me why my cakes taste so good. My answer is always, “Because I bake with love.” While this might sound cliche, for me ‘baking with love’ means using quality ingredients, spending the time necessary to plan and execute an idea, and paying attention to the details. There is love baked into everything I make. I specialize in buttercream. I believe a truly memorable cake or cookie is both beautiful and delicious.

We have now relocated back to the States. The idea that was a spark is starting to ignite. I would love to help you make your special occasions light up someone’s eyes. It’s amazing what a little buttercream can do.
