🎃🍪 This weekend, we celebrated my son’s 4th BOOday with my very first cookie cakes! 👻🧡

When the cookier’s son gets to choose his birthday cake, apparently he knows exactly what he wants… a GIANT COOKIE! 😂 And honestly, I think the birthday boy made a pretty wise choice!

But don’t worry, I’m not switching careers just yet! Mom will happily be returning to her royal icing and sugar cookies. 🤣😂

🇯🇵 Selah traveled to Japan this week!

Okay… maybe not really. 😂 But our kitchen definitely did!

My husband works at Ajinomoto, and this week I had the fun of putting together a Japanese-inspired lunch for his coworkers — complete with okonomiyaki, Ramune, and, of course, cookies. 😉

For the sweet part of the meal, I made three Japanese-inspired flavors:

🍵 Kyoto Matcha — earthy matcha + creamy white chocolate
🖤 Midnight Sesame — rich, nutty black sesame
🌾 Golden Kinako — warm, roasted soybean flavor

I had so much fun researching the flavors, finding the ingredients, and putting together a little taste of Japan right here in Southeast Iowa. 🇯🇵🤍

And after getting to hear everyone’s reactions to the meal, I’m pretty sure the cookies were a good choice. 🥹

And because I apparently decided my birthday gift should also be a little extra work for me 😂, this is available to the FIRST 5 ORDERS ONLY!

Well hello there! 👋 It’s been a while since you’ve seen my face around here. 😂

If you’re new around here, I’m Ericka—the human behind Selah Cookie Co. 🍪❤️

I’m the one who spends an unreasonable amount of time thinking about cookies, coming up with new flavors, designing ridiculous little cookie creations, and somehow convincing myself that I definitely have room for one more cookie cutter. 😅

Selah Cookie Co. has been a pretty wild journey since I started baking in 2018. There have been lots of cookies, lots of learning, lots of changes, and a few seasons where life just needed to come first.

But here we are. ❤️

So I thought it was time to put an actual face back on the page.

And yes… this is pretty much what I look like when I’m baking. Hair up, comfy clothes, mixer going, and probably covered in flour five minutes later. 😂

Apparently, giving kids cookies they have to UNWRAP like a mystery toy is a winning strategy. 😂🥟

The Mystery Dumplings were a HUGE hit at school yesterday! The kids had so much fun opening them up and discovering which little dumpling was hiding inside. 💕💜💙💚💛

I’m not saying I told you these were going to be fun… but I may have been onto something. 😏😂

Mystery Dumplings: 10/10. Would unwrap again. 🥟✨

And now I’m over here thinking… 👀
What if the dumplings got a little spooky for Halloween? 🎃👻

🍎🍏 Our family got the whole orchard to ourselves today at Apple Blossom Farms! We picked 28lbs of apples and I can’t wait to turn most of them into pie filling and other baked goods 🥰
