Painting or cake? This vanilla cake with lemon filling is a vertical cake, built in a foam board (covered in plastic wrap) box with a picture frame attached to the top. One of the coolest cakes I’ve done. 🌊 🏖️ 🌅

How cute are these cupcakes featuring the recipients cat and dog?! 🐶 🐱 To ensure your edible image doesn’t bleed from the buttercream I brush a thin layer of chocolate to the back.

Been wanting to jump on the long cake trend for a bit now. Love how this one turned out. 4 layers of chocolate cake with 2 filling layers of a whipping chocolate pudding and 1 filling layer of raspberry jam.

A quick history of Chelsea’s Messy Kitchen…
I worked in radio from 2013-2025, mostly on air and some behind the scenes work. In 2020 I was laid off during COVID. 2020 was also the year of the hot chocolate bomb, so I hit the ground running making hundreds in a few short weeks. Since then, I’ve expanded to making custom desserts for your birthdays, weddings, retirement parties, graduations, and more. It has been such an honor to make your events special.
Now fast forward to 2025, laid off from radio again, found out I was pregnant, had my son, and started a career change. I was saying goodbye to radio and hello to teaching. This September I will begin my new career as a middle school social studies teacher.
Between starting a new career and keeping my son as my main focus, I will be scaling back in September. If you have already placed an order for September, your order is locked in. Beyond that, I will not be taking orders in September and figuring out what is manageable for the future.
Thank you for all of your support over the past 6 years. This isn’t goodbye, this is a see ya later. 👋
