Carrot cakes with dried flowers is always a classic. The cream cheese icing with those moist layers of carrot cake practically melt in your mouth.

It isn’t pretentious but it sure makes you feel like you are in a scratch made bakery or your grandmas kitchen.

At the same time it can be equally perfect for a wedding or a spring time dinner party.

When wonderland is the theme of the party, there is no way this baker couldn’t make an “eat me” tea biscuit!
What other shape could it be but a heart of course?
In perfect British fashion it was a rose infused biscuit, half dipped in white chocolate and dusted with a hibiscus powder.

Hello everyone! If I pop into a photo it feels right to introduce myself for any new friends around here. I am April, the face of this little home bakery! Thank you for being a part of making our lives a bit sweeter and supporting Mum Yums Bakery right in the heart of Serra Mesa, San Diego!

Since I posted my fun Easter cake, it’s time to share the “adult” one.

I love making carrot cake. It is one of my specialty cakes and every time a client orders one I get excited. On top of making them for clients I like to eat them as well!! So that means that every Easter a carrot cake is on the menu for our Easter guests. This year since our dinner was just our family I made it for our Easter picnic with our church family! It had an extra layer to feed the masses and was just enough to satisfy my carrot cake obsession AND share with some dear people. My favorite way to decorate the cake is with fresh edible flowers but these dried violas also worked beautifully.
