Monday night I brought my ever famous (ehem) freshly baked egg pie aka egg custard pie and one of my co workers told me she likes egg custard pie because her mom always makes it (she’s an older co worker and she said they’re from Canada so her mom used to bake a lot of pies). I told her, I’ll bring her some coconut custard macaroons if she like. And she said she would love it. Last night when I handed her a small box of coconut custard macaroons, she gave me a hug(we are not really that close, neither do we talk. She’s one of those older nurses that look so strict) and she told me that having the egg custard pie monday night means so much to her. She said it it her right in her heart because she said her mom passed away 10 years ago amd since then she never had an egg custard pie until that Monday night. And she said it brought so many happy memories of her mom. I can see behind her eyeglasses that she’s started tearing up, i did too. Last night I realized, God gave me this talent in cooking and baking (that I didnt even know that I have the capabilities) not only to generate an added income, but to bring joy and happiness to others. Each person have plenty of stories in their life, and most of this memories were build through food. My heart once again is dancing with joy! I knew when i thought about Pinoy Sweets, it is not just a small business. Its is not just baking amd making sweets. It has meaning and purpose.
