Hanky Panky Friday makes a rare guest appearance. It’s been a while (8 years!) but apparently I still know how to do a proper vegan food crawl. Black sesame soft serve with tahini caramel (this was bomb), not dog, and mochi cookies (Koke), Filet o’ fu and crazy good taro donuts (Mommy Pai’s), Kolkata chai (finally a spot without honey!) and a cherry espresso donut (Cloud Donuts). How precious is my dog meat trade survivor son?

We received some really encouraging news yesterday at our visit at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Uhmma’s numbers remain stable which is wonderful so instead of returning in three months as originally planned, her doctor said he’ll see her again in six months. Ahbba also received positive news. In this round of blood work, they did not see any abnormal plasma cells which had been seen previously by another oncologist, but to be safe he’ll return in six months for another check.

I’m so relieved and overwhelmingly grateful and deeply touched by all of your love and support. Thank you thank you.

My Cycle for Survival ride is Thursday and I am deeply honored and humbled to have been asked to ride Jen‘s Bike — this special spin bike pays homage to Cycle for Survival’s cofounder Jennifer Goodman Linn. Mom was recently diagnosed at Memorial Sloan Kettering with Smoldering Multiple Myeloma - a pre-cancerous blood condition that can progress into Multiple Myeloma, a rare cancer of the bone marrow. Shortly after, the same abnormal plasma cells found in her bloodwork were also found in Dad’s, so we will be taking him to MSK next month as well.

My ride for Cycle for Survival is in 2 weeks — I’m riding to support rare cancer research.

On November 28, my mom was diagnosed at Memorial Sloan Kettering with Smoldering Multiple Myeloma—a pre-cancerous blood condition that can progress into Multiple Myeloma, a rare cancer of the bone marrow. Just one month later, the same abnormal plasma cells found in her bloodwork were also found in my dad’s, and we will be taking him to MSK as well to better understand what this means and what comes next.

On March 5th, I’m riding for Cycle for Survival and fundraising to support the research and care MSK provides, giving families like mine answers and hope.

Mom and Dad, you are my heroes, my heart, and the greatest honor of my life is being your daughter.
