It’s been 4 weeks since our last day of service! It’s hard to put into words just exactly how I felt today as I carried out the last of the pots & pans from the restaurant. The expression “too many cooks spoil the soup” is an idiom that means when too many people are involved in trying to do the same thing, the result will most surely NOT be good. We’ll when I opened the plate 12 years ago I had the crazy idea to embrace the opposite- that’s to say that by design the plate has always been about the people. To MY team past and present- a crazy, funny, diverse group of individuals from many different places we figured out how to do it our way with no one to rely on BUT each other. What we created together proved nothing short of amazing. I will always forever be so proud of you and what we accomplished together! To OUR customers, your hand written notes, emails, posts on social and just all around love and support did NOT go unnoticed or appreciated. You made us feel, valued, and indispensable. You showed us the power of kindness and what it’s like to be good humans. For that I will always be grateful! “If you are a chef no matter how good a chef you are, it’s not good cooking for yourself; the joy is in cooking for others”. TY!
