MILLINGTON UPDATE.

First, THE ROAD IS OPEN! Construction directly in front of 2KC is finished! There's still some gravel until testing and paving are complete, but you can drive right up again from any direction. HALLELUJAH.
...But something happened this week that meant a lot to us.
After our post, City Manager, Frankie, personally called to apologize and assure us they're working to improve communication with businesses during future projects.

Y'all. That phone call meant A LOT. Millington is growing fast. Leadership is busy. There are BIG projects going on & we are a SMALL business in the mix.

--> I was born and raised in Millington. Im talking...Goat Days in its glory, ball games at Joyner Park, eating at Old Timers, treats from Boatwright's, and running the walkway at Aycock Park (I almost certainly still have scars from those monkey bars). IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW. 🥹

That Millington raised me. And I want my kids to grow up with that same hometown pride.

--> Here's the reality, though. Small business is HARD. Nearly half of Tennessee businesses don't make it five years. Even more real, Jack and I don't take paychecks from 2KC. We're still investing our own cash because we believe in what we're building. And yes, even ONE slow day matters. One slow week is a moutnain, one slow month would be devastating.

So when city leadership takes the time to listen and make things better, THAT MATTERS.

We can love the Millington we remember AND embrace the Millington we're becoming. Those two things don't have to compete.

We want progress. Thriving small businesses. Families making memories. A downtown we're proud of.... & TRUST, we want 2KC to be part of it ALL.

Thank you, Frankie, for taking the time to call. Thank you to our community for continuing to show up. And thank you, Millington, for giving us roots worth growing for.

Now come get a cookie. The front drive is BACK IN BUSINESS.

Friends, Millington store threw us a curveball this week, especially today. Construction has closed the whole road and our main entrance. We didn’t know until it started, I’m sorry for the late notice.

Also…. there is now a giant hole directly at our main drive. Apparently we’re getting a moat. Very exclusive. Very bad for cookie sales. 🏰

—> That said, We ARE OPEN! You can enter along the side near B Street and come see us.

Yes, I’m crying a little. We know progress has to happen, but unexpected road closures and road work right at our entrance hits small businesses hard.

If you can make the detour for a cookie and coffee, we’d be extra grateful. Sharing this helps people know we’re still here.

P.S. this latte came from Millington today! Worth the detour.

FRIDAY IS FOR THE PLATTER BOXES, BESTIE.

Why? Because our flavor selection has more options than a millennial trying to decide what to watch on Netflix before falling asleep 12 minutes later.
