A few of the photos from Natalie and Erik's anniversary celebration last month, all by .photos - thank you so much for sharing!

It was about 95° all the way down, but the ocean kept things a perfect 75° on the Eolia Mansion grounds for this pair. I love the idea of having a first anniversary party all to yourselves.

Just a few of the sample cakes that went out recently to couples planning their weddings. Because I work from my private Kitchen, I cannot offer cake tastings the same way a storefront bakery would - I don't have a display case, everything I make is baked to order. And unfortunately, I cannot offer tastings at no charge, otherwise I would probably go out of business baking for free.

But with the influx of wedding requests over the last year or so, particularly this spring, I decided that a new approach was merited.

Now you and your fiance can choose 2 flavors from the JK Menu to try as 5" mini cakes during a 1 hour in person consultation for a flat $100. (This fee covers the 2 mini cakes and our time together, and does not get applied to the final balance.) Can't pick just 2? Add on additional mini cakes for $50 each.

Already know what you want and don't need an in person consult? I still offer no-cost phone consultations. And of course, you are always welcome to order cakes and cupcakes for other occasions, as I've always encouraged, to try all the flavors you like.

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to Audrey, who requested a spring-palette vintage-esque floral cake, and I could not be happier to have obliged 😊 Crowned with bows and touches of gold, this cake would fit right in at a turn of the century garden party.

Audrey, I can't tell you how touched I am that you chose me to make the cake for your special day 💝 Thank you so much! I hope you loved every bite. And many thanks to your lovely mom, too!

May has been a pretty wild month! Lots of unexpected happenings, and a few "let's make lemons out of lemonade," which is exactly what I did for this month's Colour Collab. I LOVE purple, and I really wanted to try a new technique this month, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I ended up with some extra ingredients and not enough time, so I stuck with something I will never turn down: a little purple vintage cake.

And you know what? It went to a wonderful home to be enjoyed and used for a birthday celebration, and isn't that the whole point of what we do? I am always so glad that I can make people happy. Thank you, Kerri, I hope the little guy didn't mind all the flowers on his cake 🥰😉

I had requests for two puppy dog cakes this month for Charlie and Celia, and they are both utterly adorable though completely different!

Charlie wanted a hot pink cake with lots of bright piping and tiny puppies. Celia, to ensure it did not match her sister's cake from earlier this year, got a full-puppy-face cake with piped floppy ears and sugar cone party hat.

I'm 🧚‍♀️FAIRY-ly🧚‍♀️certain that we're celebrating some birthdays this weekend 😉 Eva sent me a photo of a little fairy house (originally designed by ) for Ainsley's birthday, in blush pink with colors to match the invitation.

The door, windows, and rocks are all made from modeling chocolate, and the butterflies are wafer paper, so you can eat everything with the exception of the fairies themselves. I hope the party was magical, Eva! Happy birthday to Ainsley 🎉

Today, we're celebrating the absolute queen of the perfect puns, a cake maker who works in the freezer instead of the oven, a lady who loves ice cream, pink, and pink ice cream: Kristine 🥳🎂 I am so glad the hellscape that is social media brought us together, because you genuinely make me smile every day with your humor, kindness, and of course your absolutely beautiful, insanely creative ice cream cakes! I hope you feel the love heading your way from all over the world today 🩷

🤍The First Year🤍
Love is worth celebrating at every milestone, big or small, and especially the first year of marriage. I delivered this little vintage floral cake for Natalie and Erik's anniversary this week, one small part of an extra-special day of celebration.

Natalie had sent me a photo of some floral-painted macarons in softly muted spring colors as inspiration, so I pulled the elements together and got a little creative with the cake. One of my favorite things to do with vintage floral cakes is to make sure that there is just little variation - no two sections are EXACTLY alike.

I hope your day was everything you dreamed and more, Natalie & Erik! Thank you so much for thinking of me, and happy anniversary - cheers to many more! 🥂💕
