The cold front moved in on Sunday afternoon, but the clouds and breeze brought a little respite from the humidity - and perfect dancing weather for Abigail & Mike's Wadsworth Mansion wedding. I don't always get to see my couples on the day of the wedding, but I was glad to run into the groom for a moment: during our consultation back in March, he'd mentioned that he'd love to try the Butter Pecan cake, and though they settled on vanilla and chocolate chip for the wedding, I happened to have a couple extra Butter Pecan cupcakes - just the right pre-wedding snack!

Abigail & Mike, I hope you had the wedding day of your dreams. Thank you, and congratulations!

Cake Details:
10/8/6" 3-tier in Vanilla and Chocolate Chip cake with vanilla frosting in a white-on-white palette knife floral cascade design with touches of gold. The flowers in the vase plus the gold stand and frame added the perfect complement.

🐟🐚Two Less Fish in the Sea🐚🐟
Sunday turned out to be a spectacular day for a Jack & Jill on the river, and I was absolutely thrilled to provide the cake. My instructions were "by the sea, but elevated" with a mood board featuring a palette of pale and navy blues, pops of yellow and green, and hydrangeas.

I love it when a plan comes together 😁 Everything you see is handmade and edible, from the Ghirardelli white chocolate shells to the piped hydrangea (with half-spheres of cake underneath!) dripping over the edges. The bottom tier reflects the ocean under the surface with the deeper blues, while the top tier features the flowers on a beautiful day with more white and pale blue. The lustering on the shells and the gold pearls add a little yellow, and the leaves in the hydrangeas give that bit of deep green.

Wasn't it just yesterday that we were presenting mythology projects in sophomore English? 💝 And now they're graduating from college...

Two red graduation cakes, one in roses and one in polka dots, celebrating all the hard work that these three ladies have done! Julia, Emilia, and Carly, multas, multas gratulationes! Thank you so much to Tina and Shannon, I'm so glad to have baked for your families for so long 🙏 (And thanks to Will for being a rainy day delivery driver!)

A few of the photos from Natalie and Erik's anniversary celebration last month, all by .photos - thank you so much for sharing!

It was about 95° all the way down, but the ocean kept things a perfect 75° on the Eolia Mansion grounds for this pair. I love the idea of having a first anniversary party all to yourselves.

Just a few of the sample cakes that went out recently to couples planning their weddings. Because I work from my private Kitchen, I cannot offer cake tastings the same way a storefront bakery would - I don't have a display case, everything I make is baked to order. And unfortunately, I cannot offer tastings at no charge, otherwise I would probably go out of business baking for free.

But with the influx of wedding requests over the last year or so, particularly this spring, I decided that a new approach was merited.

Now you and your fiance can choose 2 flavors from the JK Menu to try as 5" mini cakes during a 1 hour in person consultation for a flat $100. (This fee covers the 2 mini cakes and our time together, and does not get applied to the final balance.) Can't pick just 2? Add on additional mini cakes for $50 each.

Already know what you want and don't need an in person consult? I still offer no-cost phone consultations. And of course, you are always welcome to order cakes and cupcakes for other occasions, as I've always encouraged, to try all the flavors you like.

Wishing the happiest of birthdays to Audrey, who requested a spring-palette vintage-esque floral cake, and I could not be happier to have obliged 😊 Crowned with bows and touches of gold, this cake would fit right in at a turn of the century garden party.
