Made some Harry Potter themed cupcakes this past Friday for a dear friend’s baby shower. Used a whipped buttercream frosting, as the cupcakes themselves were more of a dense texture. She picked out the flavors of red velvet and vanilla, which paired perfectly with Gryffindor colors of red and gold. They were hit!

The last cake I’ll make in Beaufort turned out really well! Two tiered cake in a golds & pale pink color scheme.

Bottom tier was three 9” layers, vanilla cake with a lemon curd filling. Top tier was four 6” layers, chocolate cake with a cherry filling.

Both coated with vanilla buttercream icing.

A couple of things I worked on the last two days. Made these sprinkle sugar cookies Saturday morning for a get together with friends (I received a 10lb bag of sprinkles for my birthday, barely put a dent in them). Also made cake layers Saturday & finalized the cake this morning. Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. Gum paste flowers (I did not make), edible gold leaf, and gold sprinkles.

I had the privilege of making this cute birthday cake for a little girl turning 7. All she requested was a “rainbow kitty” cake, so I was able to have a little free reign on the design. Vanilla cake with six layers, each dyed a color of the rainbow (minus indigo). Cat, rainbow, and rainbow 7 are all homemade marshmallow fondant. Hoping she liked it!
