We very rarely get to see the reaction of the recipients of our Blessing Cakes, but let me tell you… this little boy made my whole weekend last week. 💗
The Free Store is so much more than a resource for our community… it’s family. From the volunteers to the clients who simply need a village, this is their village.
I was sad I couldn’t stay long because, truthfully, emotions have never been my strong suit. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry the entire drive home. Not tears of sadness, but tears of joy.
That day, I received two hugs that I will forever carry with me. The first was from a little boy who was so excited about his cake. The second was from a grandpa who was simply so happy to have his grandson there with him. Those are the moments that stay with you forever.
I created the Blessing Cake Program because I’ve been there. Thankfully, I have always had a very small village of people I could count on during difficult times, but I know others are not so lucky. That’s exactly why this program is so important to me. Every celebration matters. Every person deserves to feel celebrated. Every family deserves moments of joy, even during life’s hardest seasons.
Thank you to every sponsor who has sponsored a cake for our Blessing Cake Program. Thank you to this incredible community that allows us to continue making moments like this happen. Because of you, families are celebrated, memories are made, and people are reminded that they are never alone.

A week ago today, a grandpa welcomed his grandson into his home for a new start. Even though it came about by tragedy, there is reason to rejoice and thank God. We celebrated with one of the blessing cakes from Bramble Springs Bakery . She even delivered and celebrated with us. For all those that have donated to make someone's day special, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! You made this little boy smile and helped make this a special day.
