Excited to share my latest commissioned artwork!

Boy did I enjoy this one. Every part of it incredibly intentional, specially the laying of color.

The client came with a list of 50 sentences and this time I did not want just a written list. Too basic I thought.
I presented 3 ideas and they chose this one.

I must explain that when I present drafts they are extremely basic; they don’t even show the color palette I’ll use or the calligraphy hand I’ll use. Those things I decide as I go so the client deposits all their trust in me and I am so grateful for that.

They did not know what I was going to do except that there would be blocks of color containing the words.
But if you made it through all the slides you’ll see they were so happy with the result.

What a sweet gift for the queen of the house!

I cannot wait to see it framed and filling a wall.

It’s funny how things have not changed much in 20 years of my life.
I still spend holidays doing calligraphy in the quiet of a room or with some background noise.
Not much has changed about me except now I’m a wife in her 40’s and there is a different companion sitting by my feet.

An oldie from 2021

The customer requested a painting of the cabin and field where they got married.
Such a sweet request and one I totally loved bringing to my paper.

I always wonder what it becomes of the pieces I make. Some clients will send pictures of them framed some I never hear back from.
What I do know is that because of all the meaningful detail that goes into them they become treasures and heirlooms. And THAT is what I love the most about my work.

I’m so lucky these people trust me!

Im going large.

For years I’ve wanted to create large artworks but was always so intimidated. I love miniature work but the challenge of something this large gives me other feelings that I like.

Stretching the paper in my little studio has been a journey. I cannot do it in any other room because I live in the desert and Im trying to avoid dust on my expensive paper.
You can see here I don’t even have a surface large enough for it so a foam core board has to do it.

My dining table is not an option cause I prefer working in the quiet room.

So much research has gone into figuring out watercolor in the Vegas weather. But Im finally ready to start painting.

Praying hard that it all works out 😅😅

The Painted Collection in Leather

In preparation for my saturday event with Michael Kors where I will be painting monograms on all kinds of leather products.

Excited to see what the clients will choose!

I don’t use stencils on the letters but I do study Trajans and serifs a lot. And though these are not Trajans they are a typeface based off them.
The client has requested this specific typeface because it matches their branding and we must always listen to our client.

I had a busy and lovely event at Neiman Marcus this past weekend, bottle painting and engraving.

This was only my second bottle painting event and I quite enjoyed it. Thinking of composition and color theory on the spot turned out to be fun!

I made a menu for the guests to have some suggestions (thanks to for the genius idea) . Even the men wanted painting for themselves.

A weekend of experimenting with a new writing surface!
We will create “paper” out of sugar. And no , it’s not edible wafer paper but rather a surface you will be able to manipulate and use it to write lovely messages on cakes and desserts that you bake yourself or you buy from someone else.
A great way of showing off your calligraphy and painting skills!

Also a great way of monetizing your skill through partnering with cake and cookie makers.

Edible mediums don’t work the same as paper and canvas. You will learn how to use edible inks and paints and also how to create letters with a piping bag and icing.

As a certified cake designer and a professional calligrapher, it is very exciting to show you how I bring together my two worlds.

These two goofballs, Cassius and MartyMcfly , married their parents yesterday. They were present in every stage of the planning as the spoiled babies they are.

With mother’s day around the corner I went back to see what I did last year and this was one of the activations.

These diffusers turned out to be quite hard to engrave because of their material (a sort of chalk) making them messy but the real challenge was keeping the lines smooth and not choppy. I also traveled around Chicagoland to the different stores!

Guests loved them! They sprayed them with perfumes and they were then packed in beautiful boxes. Of course I wrote cards too.

Always thankful to the LV team. You know who you are 💕
