Laredo Native Rumored to Join MCU’s Next Spider-Man Film
A Laredo native is generating buzz after being rumored to appear in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movie, potentially joining stars Zendaya and Tom Holland.
According to a social media post by entertainment insider Daniel Richtman, actor Eman Esfandi, a Laredo native, is being linked to a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth film in the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise. In the rumor, Esfandi could portray the boyfriend of Michelle “MJ” Jones, the character played by Zendaya.
Esfandi is already familiar to audiences for his role as Ezra Bridger in the Disney+ series Ahsoka. He first appeared in Episode 6 of that show and is confirmed to reprise his role in the upcoming second season, which recently finished production and is expected to premiere in 2026.
Before his work on Ahsoka, Esfandi appeared in the 2021 Oscar-winning film King Richard and the 2022 A24 drama The Inspection. He has also directed award-winning short films and performs music under the name DragonWulf.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the next installment in the MCU’s Spider-Man series, which continues Tom Holland’s portrayal of Peter Parker alongside familiar characters including Zendaya’s MJ and Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds.
