Out but never really gone. This weekend we had the opportunity to host some girlfriends for a “granny hobby” day. Quiche, muffins, waffles, and cinnamon rolls. Diamond art, puzzling, reading, and coloring. What’s your favorite “grandma hobby?”

Friends,

Many of you may have seen that I have not been at the La Porte Farmed & Forged Market in several weeks. While it’s one of my favorite events of the summer, I’ve had to stop for the rest of the season. Many of you may know already, but the bakery is my part-time job. While it’s my favorite venture and I look forward to having it as a full-time venture one day, it’s just not possible right now.

As a result, the bakery is on hold until Fall 2026 at the earliest. Please know that I’m not leaving; however, the brunt of this year needs to be me focusing on my full-time job and family right now so I stay afloat mentally and physically. I’m expected to return for the Westville Pumpkin Festival and Valparaiso Journeyman’s Fall Artisan Market.

I’m immensely grateful for everyone who’s ever supported the bakery and me, and I cannot wait to come back in full force for you all. 🍪🤎

Chocolate Chipper friends,

I wanted to pop on and give all you lovely people a heads up that I won’t be at Farmed & Forged this Sunday. My full-time job completely consumed this week and will consume my weekend, and I just don’t have the bandwidth (or time) to bake. I’d rather skip a week than show up with nothing to offer you.

I’m wearing a lot of hats right now. Between running the bakery and doing the work I do in the community, it’s a lot for one person, and this week the scales just didn’t tip in the bakery’s favor. I appreciate your grace and your support so much. I’ll be back next Sunday with fresh batches and all the good stuff.
