My faithful friends and followers, the time has come! I am building this page up. More presence, more content, just MORE. And if I am going to have any hope of my community being there for me, I need to be there for my community. LET'S GO.
Community, it is time to show up for Deadtime Stories Books & Gifts. Visit this awesome business, spread the word, and rally around a local business. Get into Reo Town and show them we care!
Y'all. I'm EXHAUSTED. A Festival of Oddities always drains the life out of me, but usually in a good way. This year was a whole different ballgame. Those of you who pay attention know that I went into this year's festival running on less than empty. All I really wanted was to get through it. I had no clue how hard that would be to do.
For a full accounting of the tea, peep the posts on the A Festival of Oddities page. The TL;DR version: a Charlotte local (Jonathan Potter, owner of PotterVilla Applied Technology, for inquiring minds) brought in professional agitators from out-of-state to disrupt the festival, and disrupt it they did. When the local police failed to put a stop to their harassment, my plan of attack became to just keep them in front of my booth. If they were harassing me, they weren't harassing someone else.
This, obviously, was not great for sales. Or my central nervous system. So I've got a lot of UFO books and merch to unload, but also, as previously stated, I'm exhausted. I need a break. So we will be CLOSED FRIDAY, 9/11. I need a day to reset both myself and the store, which is full of boxes of festival merch that need to be absorbed into stock.
We will reopen Saturday, 9/12, with some sort of sale for the weekend featuring a clever ufo-ish play on words that I will come up with tomorrow. If you can fit it into your schedule, come visit us. We are open 11-6 Saturday and 11-4 Sunday. Just as much as we need to make some sales and get rid of this alien s**t, we also need to see some friendly faces. š¤
