My late momma’s energy was surely with me today as I pulled a 14 hour day between running Camp Invention and commercial kitchen baking at “The Maker Kitchen powered by Lake Trust” for my small business: The Teaching and Baking Guru LLC. A new experience for me tonight as I pulled off 9 batches in the industrial sized mixer. Running that mixer tonight took me back to my days, as a little girl, at Sweeney’s Bakery.

It’s, officially, “official”!!! A HUGE shout out to my 2 year/looping students AKA my “post Covid students”. They are THE only group of students that had me as their teacher for 2 years (grades 5th-6th) and because of that…they fully knew me inside and out. THEY deserve full credit for my small business vision as they were the ones to push me into thinking outside of the box and getting a “side hustle”.
