I REMEMBERED TODAY. 😂🍎

Meet two of my favorite things on the September menu…

🍎 Apple Pie Fog
Earl Grey tea, house-made apple pie syrup and cinnamon cream.

🤎 Apple Chai Tea Trifle
Chai-spiced cake, vanilla bean pastry cream, cinnamon apples and cream.

And I know I made them so I’m probably biased, but GOOD GRIEF. The Apple Pie Fog might be one of my favorite drinks I’ve ever put on a menu.

And the Apple Chai Trifle is like fall in every bite. 🤤

Fall has not technically arrived in Florida, obviously. Florida did not get the memo. But we’re going to pretend anyway. 😂🍂

Somewhere along the way, people stopped just being customers and started becoming familiar faces I genuinely look forward to seeing. 🥹

You come back. We talk. I know your orders. You tell me what you liked last week. And somehow this little tea thing I wasn’t even sure anyone else would understand is becoming a community.

I have regulars. 😭🫖

Still feels wild to say that. And yes… pretty tea-rific. 😂

So today’s content plan was to take you along while I prepped the new September menu.

I took two clips.

TWO. 😂

Apparently I put my earbuds in, started my book, got in the zone and completely forgot that I’m also supposed to be a person who creates content on the internet.

But honestly? I was just really happy.

I love baking this menu. The kitchen smelled like chai cake and apples and cinnamon, the maple pastry cream was DIVINE, and at one point I genuinely think I could have just stood there drinking the Apple Pie Fog syrup straight from the container. 😂

It was one of those kitchen days where I remembered how much I really, really love making all of this.

So no beautiful behind-the-scenes reel today. Just four seconds of proof that I was, in fact, there. 😂

Tonight was magic. Like, actually magic. 🥹🕯️

Every bite was eaten. Cups and cups of tea were poured. People asked questions about The Briar & Lantern, when we’re opening, what we’ll serve, whether we’ll have afternoon tea… and were just genuinely excited about this little place we’re building.

And I’m sitting here now with approximately 1,000 dishes and boxes scattered across my house, my back hurts, and somehow I just feel incredibly blessed that I get to do this. 😂🤍

To every single person who sat around our first Founding Tea table tonight, thank you. Thank you for coming, for trusting me to feed you 😂, for being excited with us, and for helping us take another step toward The Briar & Lantern.

Tonight was really, really special.

But ask me about those dishes tomorrow. 😂🫖🕯️

Starting a new little series because apparently I cannot read a good book without a good cup of tea ☁️📚

This week I’m reading Iron Flame from the Fourth Wing series, so obviously I needed something strong.

Dragons, battles, fighting, emotional damage… it called for a black tea.

But I chose one with vanilla because what is a good book without a little romance in it? Hello?

And then I picked this teacup because the little filigree details reminded me of dragon scales - the way they curve and twist just felt very dragon-y to me. It’s delicate, but still has a strong feel to it, which honestly fits the book and the main character so well.

So this week’s pairing:
Iron Flame + vanilla black tea 🐉☕️

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about creating slower, cozier, more intentional experiences.

The kind you remember.

Tea beside stacks of books.
Treat boxes shared with friends.
Beautiful afternoons tucked into little local spaces.

Over the last few months, some of my favorite moments have happened during my bookshop pop-ups. And after seeing so many of you come from those events into my teas and little tea world… I’ve decided to lean into that even more this season 💛

So while some things are shifting behind the scenes, I’m really excited for what’s ahead.

And yes - I’ll officially be back at Inklings May 23 & 24 with tea + treat boxes, cookies, teas, and probably a few surprises.

I have a feeling this is becoming something really special.

I completely forgot to share these little whimsical cookies from a recent bookshop event 💛

Tiny magical things honestly might be my favorite things to create.

Lately I’ve found myself really drawn to softer, storybook-inspired spaces and events — books, tea, nostalgic little details, cozy corners, all of it.

And I think that’s becoming more and more part of this little world I’m building here.

Anyway… these made me ridiculously happy to decorate.
