About one year ago, in the search for the best cup of coffee, we asked ourselves, “Why can’t we buy fresh-roasted coffee in this area”? Having a love for great coffee, we set out to change that! Realizing nobody was actually roasting coffee and that coffee beans purchased at the local grocery store or in many local coffee shops were either roasted months ago, or sealed in a bag and allowed to sit

on a shelf for a year or longer; it become obvious, the coffee we were drinking was simply…old. Understanding that the window for drinking fresh coffee was about two weeks after roasting and that quality in taste and aroma quickly decline with time, we decided to expand upon our passion and share our hobby of home roasting coffee with our friends and family. Compared to “coffee in a can” or beans roasted months ago, fresh artisan roasted coffee is an exceptional experience. The distinctive quality and unique attributes that custom roasted coffee is known for must be experienced to be appreciated. Quickly, the superior quality of our fresh-roasted coffee and the immediate demand we had for more drove us to think bigger and SOJO Coffee Company was born! With the purchase of a new roaster, we are now roasting and cupping small custom batches of the best single-origin coffees from around the world and creating blends that are simply outstanding! Follow us as we continue the journey of developing our passion! We anticipate having our website completed soon and will be bringing our best coffees to the public market. After a round of golf at Valley Brook Golf Course, a bucket at Dudley's Garage - Restaurant & Bowling, a stiff drink at the The Shed Bar & Grille Lakefield, and enjoying a cocktail in the Ice Box at the Hi-Lo Club Lakefield, Minnesota, our buddy Post stopped in for a quick espresso at SOJO Coffee Company!
