🎶 SPOTLIGHT ON THE RHYTHM SECTION

When Victor G. Washington and the Sweet Soul R***e take the stage, they’ll be backed by a powerhouse rhythm and instrumental section. Today, we are thrilled to highlight three extraordinary musicians who will be bringing the soul, pocket, and fire to Parmelee Farm:

🥁 Isiah Williams (Drums)
Isiah has been playing drums since he was 4 years old, growing up in the church where music and faith shaped who he has become. The church wasn’t just where he learned rhythm, it’s where he found purpose. Over the years, his passion for drumming became a form of expression and ministry. At 19, he stepped into his calling and became a minister, continuing to use both his voice and his gift on the drums to inspire and uplift others.

🎸 Tim DeHuff (Electric Guitar)
A legendary Connecticut-based guitarist, Tim’s professional career took off at age 20 when he toured with the R&B/Soul icons The Main Ingredient, performing at massive venues like Shea Stadium and the L.A. Forum. He went on to work in New York City doing movie soundtracks and jingle work, playing alongside jazz and rock greats like Alphonse Mouzon, Joe Beck, and Larry Coryell. Whether he's laying down funk, jazz, or rock grooves, Tim's masterly skill brings pure magic to the stage.

🥁 Tommy Nagy (Drums)
A phenomenal and sought-after local dynamic force behind the kit, Tommy is well-known across the regional music scene for anchoring the tight rhythm sections of popular touring groups like DizzyFish and The Best of the 70's. With his impeccable timing, versatility, and high energy, Tommy ensures the pocket stays deep and the dance floor stays packed all night long.

Tyrone Cox is a legendary trumpet player, horn section leader, band a founding member of the iconic 1970s disco/funk group Crown Heights Affair who also lends his smooth baritone to the vocal arrangements. Over his spectacular career, he has brought his powerhouse sound to the stage with powerhouse acts like the James Brown Horns, Brass Construction, The Isley Brothers, Ben E. King, and Wilson Pickett. ☀️ A SUMMER UPDate from The Bread Girl 🌾

To our incredible community,

From September through June, our kitchen is a whirlwind of holiday baking, milestone celebrations, and non-stop mixing, shaping, and scoring. We absolutely love what we do, but to stay creative, inspired, and deeply in love with the art of artisan baking, a little time to recharge is a must!

To avoid burnout and fill our own cups, The Bread Girl will be closing for regular order-taking until September 10th.

We are stepping away from the daily schedule to enjoy the sunshine, tend to the garden, and spend long overdue time outdoors with our family, friends, and pups.

🥖 What to Watch For This Summer
While the regular ovens are taking a break, we won’t be completely disappearing! Keep a close eye on our social media feeds for:

Occasional Pop-Ups: We’ll be experimenting with new, seasonal breads and pastries. These might be a whole week of treats or just a flash one-day sale.

"Bread in the Shed" Days: Random, drop-by days for no-preorder, first-come, first-served pickups.

Community First: We will be continuing our passionate volunteer efforts right here in the community throughout the summer. Please join us at Parmelee Farm on June 5th for the 2nd Annual Motown Extravaganza to benefit YoYouth and Family Services of Haddam-Killingworth
