The Lord put this on my heart a few weeks ago and I have read it over and over, prayed over it multiple times and I know it's for someone here...
Come just as you are...
We’ve heard it for years.
We’ve sang it in hymnal books as long as I can remember, but do we?
Are we truly allowed to? Is that really welcome?
Do church buildings really allow you or even more so welcome you to come as you are?
Or do our insecurities get in the way?
Come, reeking of last night’s whiskey…and find healing.
Come, while coming down from the co***ne bender you’ve just came out of…and find peace.
Come, with teeth missing from the horrible grip addiction has had on you…and find freedom.
Come, in one of 3 pairs of clothes you own…and find acceptance. Come, those without a home…
Come, those seeking shelter and a warm embrace…
Come, just as you are.
Sadly, so many times, I don’t believe so.
That hasn’t been the case whether it be our own insecurities preventing us or society, pride, prejudice, man’s approval, and worldly love more than Christ’s love- all have gotten in the way of the ultimate calling the one true living God has given all of us.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment and a second like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets”. Matthew 22:37-40
Now, I’m not saying all sins should be disregarded in that they should be encouraged, looked past and swept under the rug with a ‘it doesn’t matter just keep living how you’re living and come!’ NO. That’s the opposite of what I am saying, beware of those that do say that - that’s blasphemy.
I’m saying we are all sinners! We’ve all sinned and all fall short of the glory of God. Repentance and willingness to turn from is needed.
I don’t care if you went to ministry school, seminary, have your doctorate in biblical studies, never touched an alcoholic beverage and would never dream of touching drugs OR if you’re currently incarcerated, currently using and suffering. It doesn’t matter! We are ALL sinners. Not one is perfect and none better than the rest. Period.
“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8
I am saying, ALL should be able to come and even feel welcome to come. Sin and all, to find healing, to find peace, to find freedom, to find refuge, to find love, to find true acceptance, all of which only being found in and through Christ Jesus.
Now. I am deeply sorry if you have ever experienced the back hand of this when you attempted visiting a church, or maybe you were a part of a church and were treated wrongly and it pushed you away, or people judged you because of your past or mistakes you made. I am truly sorry that happened – it shouldn’t have. I too know that feeling, but please don’t forget, we are all broken people, as we have already stated, we are all sinners…we can’t expect man to be what only Jesus can be- perfect.
No one on this earth will ever be that therefore, man will always fail – that is why we need Jesus so much.
Hurt people, hurt people. Don't let someone else's brokeness get in the way of your eternity! Push through and past the nonsense and go straight to HIM!
“Now the Lord is the spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”. 2 Corinthians 3:17
Not only should all people be welcome no matter the circumstance but, even more, is the spirit of the Lord welcome for them to even get that healing?
Come reeking of last night’s whiskey and find healing of the pain you’re trying to drown.
Come while coming down off that co***ne bender you were just on and find peace that no drug can provide.
Come with teeth missing and puncture scars and find love in place of judgment.
Come in one of the 3 pairs of clothes you have or the only ones you have and find true hospitality of Christ.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me. Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?’ When did we see you a stranger and take you in or without clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you? And the King will answer them, truly I tell you , whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me ”. Matthew 25:35-40
Oh but, Lord let us not be the next verses…
“Then he will also say to those on the left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels! For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink; I was a stranger and you didn’t take me in; I was naked and you didn’t clothe me , sick and in prison and you didn’t take care of me’. Then they too will answer and say, ‘ Lord when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you , whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me’ and they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life”. Matthew 25:41-46
Come and repent.
Come while still fighting that grip of addiction you have, lay it at the feet of Yeshua and find healing of the trauma that’s kept you there.
Come all with shattered souls from the abortions you’ve had and find the only one who can redeem and put you back together.
Some of you gasp as you read this and to that I say, you must not truly know Him!!
“Woe to you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of the bones of the dead and every kind of impurity”. Matthew 23:27
Because if you truly know Him… you know a love that can’t be found anywhere else.
If you truly know Him…you know that by the blood of Christ we are cleansed.
If you truly know Him…you know NOTHING is impossible with God.
If you truly know Him… you know that true repentance comes through true conviction and true conviction by knowing the only one who can convict.
And if you truly know Him…you know the father also and to know Him is to love Him.
John 14:7, 1 John 4:8, 1 John 4:11
And to love Him means you follow Him, not the world. To love him means you’ve experienced His love.
So, to any who gasp at these words or dare to even suggest to put my God into a box…1st- Only God can help you. 2nd – “…let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her” Matthew 8:7
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” 2 Corinthians 5:21
He took all our sin at the cross.
He knew every sin we all would commit, every fault, every falling, every struggle and He took it all anyway so that we would have a way to get back to him.

Ask me how I know? I WAS a prodigal.
I ran like hell, recklessly living out of trauma, pain and unforgiveness. Committing just about every sin you can think of…and yet…look what He’s doing! Look what He’s done! 10 years ago…I would have laughed in your face if you told me I would be sharing a half of this today…heck, 6 years ago…
And yet today, I am healed of pain & trauma. I found peace that no drug could provide. I’m redeemed, a soul once shattered, He put back together.
So, don’t tell me He can’t do it or He only does it for some, or you gotta get clean first or any of that garbage because I will tell you, satan is a liar and he is speaking to you and through you.
He is Jehova Rapha- our healer. Exodus 15:26
Jehova Jireh- our provider. Genesis 22:14
Jehova Nissi- our banner. Exodus 17:15
Jehova Shalom- our peace. Judges 6:24
Jehova Raah- our shepherd. Psalm 23:1
Jehova Tsidkenu- our righteousness. Jeremiah 23:6
Jehova Shammah- He is there. Ezekiel 48:35
Jehova Sabaoth- The Lord of hosts. 1 Samuel 1:3
If you have ever been one who has turned your nose up at the broken, you need to realize now that is a sign of far more brokenness than any drug addicted, homeless, or outwardly hurting person, that is inward and the same and only God who can heal the ones mentioned is the only one who can heal you.
COME AS YOU ARE.
The God of angel armies is waiting on you. He’s done all to prepare a place for you, all you have to do is come just as you are.
Repent for all sin.
Forgive all who hurt you and forgive yourself as Christ has forgiven you. Colossians 3:13
Ask Jesus to come into your heart, be your Lord and Saviour.
Then leave your mess at His feet and thank Him.
When you finish your prayer, it doesn’t mean life will be easy, no, it will be hard at times because the enemy is pi**ed. You chose healing and not him.
Find your people. Let go of the rest. (like minded- who will always encourage and redirect you back to Christ)
Make your plan. (Ask for wisdom and use it)
Surrender to Jesus daily. (It’s a daily choice)
Stay in his word. (It’s the only thing that will keep you at His feet and on the narrow path) Matthew 4:4
And know that You are so loved. John 3:16
