It's been another interesting week in the , which means you're in for another late night, long winded post... tonight's topic:
Gratitude.
To start... we aren't real bakers. Or at least it doesn't feel like that most days. Sure, we're covered in a permanent layer of flour - and spend a lot of time in front of ovens... but we are self-taught... so there's a lot of imposter syndrome here.
But, in our journey - every single person we've leaned on for help - has generously shared their time, knowledge, and experience. Whether it's Twin Bears Bakery when we were struggling with a batch of flour - or Motzi Bread when we couldn't figure out how to keep our focaccia from sticking to the pan ... we sorta, accidently, became bakers.
And through all of our trials and (many) errors - you - our wonderful carb-community - have rallied around us, inspired us, encouraged us, and showered us with love - fo which we are eternally grateful.
Which brings us to this week... when our friend Cookiejarkits came over to try out some recipes she had been working on. For those who don't already know - Katie makes a super fancy "thickkkk" cookie that's often stuffed with some sort of awesomeness - and they are delicious...and so we were trying one of her classic recipes (for her signature chocolate chip & M&M cookies) and well - it didn't go according to plan.
Instead of her trademark style of cookie - we ended up with a crispy cookie - that had a super soft center...
But even in the middle of a very frustrating bake - Katie was willing to trust us when we told her that what she accidently created was something that was truly amazing.
So while we have a VERY full menu of breads and pastries that we have poured every ounce of our heart into - I'd like to pay forward some of the kindness that you all have shown us, to ask you to also take a minute to seek out Katie's table tomorrow - and snag one of her amazing cookies.
We are grateful for you each and every day - and hope that you can show our friend some extra love tomorrow as she takes a risk with something new and outside her comfort zone.
Just picked this BEAUTY up today at the farmers market!!! Soooo FRIGGIN GOOOOOD!! 😛😛😛🤤🤤🤤

THANK YOU! Over the past couple days, there has been outpouring of generosity to help support the high school group from Southern FFA who are going to Kentucky over their winter break to help some of the farmers recover from the devastating tornados. With your help, we’ve help fill a trailer full of supplies and donations, raised funds, and put together tons of care packages for both the folks impacted and the volunteers.
Special shoutouts to a couple of our fellow cottage food business friends:
- Cookiejarkits for baking and donating a whole bag full of her massive cookies
- Fructose & Spice for whipping up a batch of her jam to help us make dozens of peanut butter and jam sandwiches
There were many folks who also donated (time/supplies/money) who are also sincerely appreciated.
Safe travels to the volunteers!
