I added some electric around our duck tractor to better protect momma and he babies, since our poultry betting is currently being used for the chickens and this springs chicks.

Solar is a great option because it allows me to move and tractor this clutch around safely and helps keep them protected against predators.

First batch of muscovy ducklings hatched today!
Momma is being very protective, and doing a great job. They will move to the tractor in a few days, once we know everyone has hatched. At the moment, she won’t let me look under and check, but we have at least 5 hatched already.

How many do you think will hatch??

1/2 gallon of whey from the cheese I made yesterday will go to feeding my blueberry bushes, with hopes for a bountiful harvest this summer!

We are always trying to improve the soil around our blueberries, since we have a lot of clay on our property. Because I used vinegar in the batch of cheese yesterday, the acidity should help each bush.

We will see!
