Not another storefront.
Not just somewhere to buy pie.

A little place in the neighborhood where you can walk up to a window, get something good, sit for a minute, talk to somebody, bring your babies, meet your friend and feel like you belong there.

We didn’t really know what the Mixed Fillings Pie Pantry was going to become when we opened that little window.

We’re still figuring it out.

But then Beth sent me these pictures from our soft launch.

I keep looking at the My Little Pony on the table 🥹

Her mom was our photographer that day, and she asked if she could help me behind the cart.

Within five minutes, she was Assistant Manager 😂
No training.
Taking customers.
Running things.

And watching her took me somewhere.

When I was her age, I had a play kitchen, plastic groceries, a little grocery basket and an Easy-Bake Oven.

I would play business for hours.

That’s me in the second photo. Still holding the basket 🥹

And all these years later, I got to watch another little girl play business inside the one I actually built.

Her My Little Pony sitting beside the Mixed Fillings bags almost did me in.

Because I loved those too 💛

I have no idea what seeds were planted in her that day.

But I know somebody planted them in me once, too.

And maybe that’s one of the coolest parts of growing up

Sometimes you get to become the thing you used to play 🥹

Anyways y’all ENOUGH with the feelings🫂
