✨WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAYS/THURSDAY✨

Guys…not sure what happened to my Wednesday this week. I completely skipped over Wednesday and kept thinking it was Thursday all day yesterday 🤦🏼‍♀️ So here’s your what’s up Wednesday on Thursday 🙃

✨WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY✨

Today’s episode…decorative cookies!

So…time for me to be a little serious/real with yall. And completely honest/transparent. This weekend I had my first REAL upset and dissatisfied customer. Allow me to explain.

The first pictures are the ones she was expecting, the typical decorative sugar cookies with royal icing. The second pictures are the ones that I created. When we spoke, it was explained that I don’t do the typical royal icing cookies, mine are regular cookies with buttercream icing. One thing I guess I did forget to explain is that all of my cookies are in the typical round shape, not shaped to the design. The design is simply drawn on the cookie.

There was a misunderstanding on both of our parts and I profusely apologized. Thankfully we were able to come to an understanding, I gave her a discount for the miscommunication, and she said there were no hard feelings. After doing this for over 2 years and this being the first REAL dissatisfied customer, I am so thankful that we were able to rectify the situation as best as possible and that she still left somewhat satisfied.

So I just want to be very clear moving forward on what you should expect when ordering decorative cookies from me so we can avoid a similar situation in the future!

My cookies are regular cookies that come in my normal flavors: chocolate chip, M&M, Reese’s, sugar, or brownie. All of the cookie shapes will be regular round cookies. I do not use royal icing, I use buttercream, so the design will not be a smooth and clean as royal icing typically is. I use the bottom of the cookies so I have a flat surface to work on. Based on the color scheme/theme you give me, each cookie will have a colored background and whichever designs you want on top of that. They will NOT look anything like the royal icing sugar cookies. All of my cookies, along with every other cake I make, is free handed and copied as best as possible to the design you’re aiming for. But I cannot guarantee for them to be as polished as the inspo pictures you send.

I hope this clears things up about how my decorative cookies work! I absolutely hate that my customer had this experience with me 💔 So I want to avoid that for the future! Please reach out if you have anymore questions or need me to clarify anything further. I’d be happy to chat 🫶🏼
