🍎 Caramel Apple Pie Skillet with Palmiers & Vanilla Bean Gelato

Serves 6–8

Ingredients

* 5 apples 3 green + 2 red
* 4 Tbsp butter
* ½ cup brown sugar
* 1 tsp ground cinnamon
* Sugar Bowl Bakery Palmiers 10–12
* Vanilla Bean Gelato or ice cream 4–5 scoops
* Caramel sauce, for drizzling
* Candied pecans, roughly chopped

Directions

1. Chop the apples into bite-size pieces, leaving the skins on.
2. Melt the butter in a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
3. Add the apples, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until everything is well coated.
4. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but not mushy and a buttery brown-sugar sauce has formed.
5. Remove from the heat. Arrange the Palmiers around the edge of the warm skillet.
6. Add generous scoops of vanilla bean gelato down the center.
7. Finish with caramel sauce and candied pecans.
8. Serve immediately while the apples are warm, the Palmiers are crisp and the gelato is beginning to melt into the caramel sauce.

Serving tip: Grab a Palmier and use it to scoop up the warm cinnamon apples and melting vanilla bean gelato.
