Campbell's tomato soup cake ❤️

Yes, you read that correctly! So... Many moons ago my best friend and I knew someone who mentioned this cake to us, and to our great surprise the recipe was readily available on Campbell's website! I haven't made it since but I thought about it often. With fall at our doorstep, I thought it might be a good time!

Y'all can still find the recipe for this on Campbell's website. I did make two changes... I adjusted the flour to use whole wheat (I think it adds extra depth and nuttiness), and I used the same frosting recipe I use for my carrot cake.

Finally getting to enjoy these freeze dried figs I got from Mayhem Meadow a few weeks ago. I accidentally hid them in the pantry with the freeze dried Skittles and candy corn the kids picked out 😩 It's nice being a grown up because no one rations my treats 😂 🤪 She's at the Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market most Saturdays. Go check out all her goodies. ...I did mention candy corn, right?!!

Another crazy week on the books! First of all, please forgive me for not posting about the Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market getting moved to Sunday because of the storms in the area! If you did get the message (from the market page) thank you for stopping by!! Those of you I missed, I will see you next Saturday! I have a new spot, on the corner in front of Trinity Church!

Harvest Faire is just a few weeks away!

You all know I only miss the Portsmouth Olde Towne Farmers Market a few times a year, and one of those times is coming up first weekend in September! It's a 2 day event, and it is held at Breezy Hill Meadworks in Smithfield. It is an absolutely magical backdrop for a Renaissance faire! Add it to your calendar and come check out the festivities! ❤️

This has been an absolutely psychotic week on all fronts, with manic highs and lows! The highlights: went to get oil change, came back with brand new new car. Washer broke, flooded apartment below hours before my tenant moved in. Hubby ended up in ER with 8mm kidney stone 😳.

Sprinkled among those headlines though were a rare trip to the beach, unexpectedly running into friends and getting to spend time with them, unexpectedly meeting and getting to know a neighbor (while accidentally buying a car), pulling an all nighter to bake, and hanging out with friends because if you're too tired too move, you might as well drive your butt over to their couch and spend time with them in the process!! ...I need a vacation!
