For those of us who are in Christ, "we do not grieve like people who have no hope."
The matriarch of my family, Bertie Baggett, went home today. Her faith and hope are now realized in the presence of the Father.
She believed in the resurrection power of Jesus. And she was eager to tell all who didn't know of this power. She lived her life on purpose and very intentionally "served the least of these."
The Bible was her source! She watched her mother meticulously read the Word of God every day, and she did likewise.
She was one of the biggest supporters and has always supported our work in Southeast Asia. The truth is, even if I swept floors for a living, she would have been proud of me.
If you don't know this hope, I'd love to tell you more about it.
