Hey friends! Don’t forget, I’m NOT baking this weekend!

Of course, I’ve already started prepping for the following weekend before I run away for a few days. Priorities, people.

Speaking of running away… give me your MUST-DOs for Philly! Food (obviously cheesesteaks), sights, weird little spots…tell me what I shouldn’t miss for my weekend getaway!

Now, back to the important (bread) stuff…

Apparently, it’s Scone Day around here, too! Almost 6 dozen scones in preorders for TODAY alone. Holy moly!

The photo of bags? That’s just today’s orders. So, needless to say, it’s been a BUSY morning already!

Luckily the Bread Gods must be smiling down on me because it’s 7:45am and the toddler is STILL ASLEEP. 🙌🏼

I don’t know what I did to deserve this kind of luck, but I’m not asking questions. I’m just going to get as much baked as I can before someone wakes up. 💙

You know I’m usually a podcast girlie. Give me some Jay Shetty when I need a mental boost or some Sword and Scale while I’m working out. (Weird, I know. 🤷🏼‍♀️)

I like that podcasts are short. If I miss something because I’m counting reps while lifting or dealing with a toddler meltdown about an octopus (exactly what happened this morning), I don’t really care. I know someone is going to die or the feel-good mantra is going to be repeated. 😂

BUT THIS AUDIOBOOK.

Pirate Queen was on a list I saw recently, so I added it to my Libby app. The audio version became available just as I was starting to shape all my loaves last week.

And you guys. I listened ALL. DAY.

Then basically any time I could possibly listen, I did.

I finished it while shaping loaves today, and I am genuinely so sad it’s over.

It was SO good. Like, I’m not ready to move on to another book because I’m still emotionally attached to this one good. Maybe it was the accent of the reader? Maybe it was the bad bitch energy of the main character? Probably that.

Anyway, if you need an audiobook recommendation… Pirate Queen. 🏴‍☠️

And please let me know your audiobook recommendations below! Specifically audiobook. I need a good voice to keep me interested.

The Grain Valley Band Great Giveaway is happening, and you should probably go buy some raffle tickets.

Because you get to support our local high school band AND have a chance to win some seriously good stuff. We’re talking a trip, food, teeth whitening, window tinting, truck accessories, and more (including a Sourdough Subscription from me)!

So basically: support the kids, maybe win something awesome, and feel slightly less guilty about spending a few bucks in this economy. Seems like a solid plan to me. 😉

Hey friends! Just a little reminder to order an extra loaf this weekend because I will NOT be baking October 16th or 17th.

October is FULL of Farmers Markets for me! You know I absolutely love them, but whew…they are a LOT of work! So for my one weekend off, I’m taking the whole weekend completely OFF. No baking. No prepping. No flour chaos. Just me pretending I know how to relax. 😂

Yes, you will survive. It will be just fine. I promise. 😉

And because you’ve been asking… Jalapeño Cheddar is back on the menu this weekend! 🧀

PLUS, it’s Pumpkin Fest at the Historic Downtown Liberty Farmers' Market, so you know what that means…all the pumpkin things! Loaves, scones and snickerdoodles! 🎃

Tis the season for Candy Corn Cookies! I know there are strong opinions on these weird candy bits BUT let me tell ya, they are delicious melted into a brown butter sourdough cookie base. Trust me. 👻
