A little PSA for the sourdough lovers out there.
Regardless of who or where you get your bread from, stock up. Real sourdough freezes very well. I’m not talking about the “sourdough” they sell in the store, I mean what you get from home/cottage bakers.
Put the bread in a ziplock bag and get as much air out as you can. If you normally just make toast with it, slice it first. That way you can just grab a slice and put it right into the toaster, no thawing needed.
For full loaves, take it out of the freezer and leave in the ziplock. That way it can re-absorb the moisture. If you want a crispy crust, run the bread under the faucet and put in a 350* oven until it’s crisp.
If you are looking for bread for the weekend, head over to the website and place an order before Noon on Fridays. I don’t “stock” any bread. Everything is made to order so it can be the freshest when you receive it.
