This Sweet 16 cake was made for a Cowboy Gala themed celebration, and I had so much fun bringing all the Western details to life! The leather fringe is made from wafer paper, the tooled leather belt is fondant, and both the (handmade/homemade) weathered cow skull as well as the turquoise gemstones are chocolate!
And on the inside? Chocolate chip cake with discs of edible cookie dough between every layer! 🍪
That jet-black buttercream might look dramatic, but here’s a fun little secret: there isn’t a drop of food coloring in it! The deep black color comes from organic black cocoa powder. Think OREO cookie!! 🤤
