This was a special one yall.

Yesterday one of my absolute best friends and also someone you all love, went from Miss to Mrs.

To say I was emotional was the understatement of the weekend. She looked absolutely stunning, and the love and support of her friends and family touched every corner of my heart.

My dearest Becca, thank you for allowing me to play even a small part in your big day. Seeing you and James become husband and wife was something that I will treasure forever.

I also want to shout out another of my best friends Amelia Hamrick who absolutely kept me sane and helped me nail this beautiful cake for Becca. I couldn’t have done it without her and I am so blessed to have the team at SCSD that I do.

I appreciate all of y’all’s patience while we’re closed to celebrate and then regroup. We can’t wait to come back and be with all of you but until then, PLEASE join me in congratulating the newest Mr and Mrs Fedele!!!

ITS OFFICIALLY BECCAS WEDDING WEEK!!!

We are all so excited to watch one of our own walk down the aisle this Saturday to a truly lucky man!

However that does mean we will be closed starting Friday the 17th. We will be gone all weekend so we will need to rebake everything when we get back so we won’t be opened back up until Thursday the 23rd. I do apologize for any inconvenience this causes

If anyone has any well wishes they want to send Becca please put them in the comments! We know you all love her as much as we do!

WOW... WOW... WOW!!

We may have just discovered one of our favorite bakeries in ALL of Western North Carolina, and believe it or not, this little gem has been hiding right here in Fletcher!

The name? Sugarcane and Shepherd Desserts! ❤️

You'll find it tucked away in the shopping center at the corner of Hendersonville Road and Butler Bridge Road, right down the road from Spinx.

Now, we've visited our fair share of bakeries over the years—some because we planned to... and some by accident. But this place? We stopped by because of an inviting comment they made on social media. It deserves a gold medal for the incredible sweets, pastries, baked goodies, and delicious treats they're serving up every single day.

From the moment you walk in, you can tell Sugarcane and Shepherd Desserts isn't just another bakery. It's one of those places that makes you want to grab a coffee, order one of everything, and tell your friends they HAVE to check it out.

Whether you live in Hendersonville, Fletcher, Asheville, Brevard, or anywhere else in Western North Carolina, this is absolutely worth the drive.

I want to take a moment and let yall know something you might not be aware of. The girl on the left, aka, the other half of my brain, and someone you all have come to know and love behind the scenes, Miss Becca Hayes, is getting married in exactly 32 days. Things are going to look a little different starting next month and although it’s bittersweet from a work perspective- I couldn’t be more ecstatic to be able to watch her become a wife, a life partner, and someday, a mom with her soon to be husband James.

Becca and I have been working together for over four years and I truly need to shout to the world how thankful I am for the day she walked in my brand new bakery, asked for a job, and took a chance on me and SCSD.

As many of you have been recipients of her immaculate cakes, cupcakes, and baking as a whole I think you all can agree with me when I say that hiring her was probably the best thing I did as a new business owner. Not only are her skills top tier, but her grace, patience, and kindness soak into every aspect of her life.

I have been honored to get to know Becca’s friends as my friends, and Becca’s family as my family. Her network is vast and for good reason- because her heart is golden and her spirit and faith are unwavering.

Now for those who are wondering if she’s leaving the bakery- don’t! She WILL be working significantly less hours as she’s moving to South Carolina to live with James, however we have come up with an arrangement that suits us both. She will always be a part of the SCSD family, even when the time comes to truly step back fully.

Becca, you know how grateful I am for you, but I wanted to publicly share this so the world can know too. You have stayed by my side when I have struggled to sign paychecks, when I had so few hours to give, and when I was going through some hard personal things that messed with my ability to be fully present.

So, Becca, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me, my business, and my life. You make going to work a positive, giggly, and vibrant place. I can’t wait to watch you walk down that aisle next month and start your next chapter. I am grateful to have been a part of this one.

Due to a death in the family, we will be closed the following dates:

Sunday June 21st, Friday June 26th, Saturday June 27th, and Sunday June 28th.

I do apologize in advance for anyone this inconveniences. My girls are going to be covering for me as best as they can, however due to the nature of the short notice they can only do so much.

I ask that everyone please be patient with us these next few weeks as I will be traveling starting June 15th and will not be back until the beginning of July. The bakery will continue to operate as normal in exception of the above dates.
