Scratch My name is Suzanne. Feeding people is my love language. Creating baked goods for any occasion is what this page is about! I don't stop at cake though.

Life is short, Lick the Bowl, Have the Cake, Break the Bread and Sit Down with your Family and Don't be in a hurry to clean up! It all started in the 70's when my Gammy let me bake with her. She instilled a love of creating beautiful sweets for special occasions and just every day enjoyment. Over the years I have taught myself many different cake decorating techniques to create cakes for birthdays

, weddings and any occasion that calls for cake! I will offer almost any sweet you can think of, from cakes to pies, to candy. There's a story behind the name. When my granddaughter was 5, I asked her what kind of cake she wanted for her birthday. All she said was a scratch cake. I finally got out of her that she wanted a chocolate scratch cake. Still not sure she understood why she was saying scratch, but it's a favorite story, and now my business. All this is being done from my home, where items can be picked up, or delivery arranged. Today is national burger day! What is your favorite way to fix a burger?
I'll tell you my choices. On the grill is always the best.
1. A toasted potato roll. Cheese and bacon on burger. Then condiments. Either pickles and ketchup & mayo. OR grilled onion (or raw), tomato and extra mayo. Sometimes lettuce.
2. For specialty burgers, i like blue cheese, bacon and balsamic onions. Or a fried egg and bacon. Or make it a greek style burger, put it on a pita with lettuce, cukes, tomato, red onion and tzatziki! And I'm funny about order. Mayo HAS to be against tomato. Lettuce on bottom to keep bun from being soggy. Bacon doesn't need to hang off in long strips, cut it and pack it in the bun lol. A fried onion ring doesnt belong on a burger!
And a gross fast food admission: a big Mac with quarter pounder patties hits hard! But I rarely go to McDonald's anymore.

#1 Scratch is back LOL
#2 We are going to have an exciting new booth Teresa Asal Chapman will have her newly published book for sale, and coloring pages for all the kids. The book is titled Little Ogre Makes Friends and is based on her beloved red headed grandson Blaine who went to his heavenly home at 3 years old. I'm so proud of her and excited for her.
#3 I hear it's National Scone Day! So I may decide to bring something new!
#4 The rain should be gone by Saturday. Whoop whoop!

Well, I didnt take photos and im kinda kicking myself. But Sunday I did a new thing. I made homemade pita bread to partner with lemon/oregano shrimp, tzatziki and all the trimmings. Hummus to snack on. Sharing with 2 friends at our quarterly catchup day lol.
I think it'll take some practice to get them where you can open them to use as a pocket, but they were pretty darn good. ❤️

We've got eggs, plants, produce, baked goods, meat, soap, canned goods, artists with handmade journals, pottery, jewelry, paintings, hand towels, photographs turned into usable products. Homemade HOTsauce. Flowers in bouquets. Oils for you and your pets. Craftsmen with crochet, Woodburned items, carpenter bee traps, etc etc etc.
And someone to sharpen your knives!!!!! Come on people, spread the word!
(Did I mention baked goods) 😁
