This is the part about cake decorating where my brain and body truly slow down. I feel my brain get quiet as I strategically place sprinkles where my eye sees they need to go. It’s an unplug and it is truly one of the things I love about baking.

Happy Easter from our very own Easter snowstorm. Finn helped me decorate the sugar cookies with his own blend of sprinkles. I remembered I had the Nordic Ware baby bunny cake pan that I picked up from the thrift store for a great deal! These little bunnies are a vanilla coffee cake with a cinnamon sugar ribbon. Mr. Wildflour Baking Co. had a birthday today. My number one cake tester requested a simple chocolate cake. I tried something new with this “Ding Dong” cake. A nod to the nostalgia of a lunch box treat, this chocolate cake is filled with a vanilla frosting and covered in chocolate ganache. Not the prettiest, but definitely the most delicious!
