As a Christian, I keep the verse Matthew 6:3 “do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,” close to my heart. I know God sees and to me that’s the greatest reward. When we give what He first gave us, our “prize” is nearness, relationship and reliance on Him. It grows my personal faith to give abundantly even if it doesn’t make sense yet.
But as a business owner, that mindset shifts. Would I love our customers to know their money supports local programs? Do I want them to know that when they buy from us, I am a good steward of that? And I think the answer if yes. This is something I wrestle with, but as conversations around me seem to be targeting the word “community” lately, the assurance to let these things be known grows.
Bubbling Over Bakery is our ministry in many ways. Yes, it covers some of our bills, but it also allows us to show up in our community every.single.day.
and I had a conversation several weeks ago that’s stuck in my head - he said “I don’t think baking is your favorite part of this, I think it’s being able to show up with something in your hands every where we go.”
So this is a thank you to our customers. Thank you for letting us reach people with food and love and Jesus. May we continue to feed our community with sweets and Jesus. Wether it’s a volunteer breakfast, a community lunch, a treat for a new mom in the throes of it all, a sponsorship to let these Fairview kids grow, or anything else, let us know how we can be a part of Fairview more ❤️
