Okay, too excited not to share this one 🥹🧁

I got a message today from the Chandler Lions Club asking if Colby’s Kitchen Chaos would be willing to donate baked goods for their upcoming auction in November.

Obviously I said YES. ❤️

It’s a little surreal having people reach out to me and ask for my baked goods. I’m still figuring this little business out as I go, but little moments like this make me feel like maybe I’m doing something right. 🥹

Now to decide what I’m putting in their auction box… 👀🧁

This. 🥹❤️

As I was packing up at Chandler Celebration Day, I saw a mom walking in with her two boys. I still had some mini muffins left, so I asked if she wanted some for the boys and sent them home with a couple packs of chocolate chip and confetti minis.

I didn’t think anything else of it. I was just happy to send a couple kiddos home with a treat.

Then I woke up to this message today. 🥹

This means so much more to me than just making a sale. Of course I want my little business to grow, but knowing something I made brought a little bit of happiness to someone and their kids? THAT is the part that makes all the hours in the kitchen worth it. ❤️

Knowing they’ve been enjoying those muffins for the last couple of days absolutely made my morning.

And apparently Mom loved the chocolate chip ones too. 👀😂

Thank you for taking the time to message me, Mariah. You have no idea how much this meant to me. 🫶🏻

Maybe those kid-friendly minis need to stick around after all… 👀🧁

Getting to watch these two actually enjoy the day while Mom was busy selling muffins. 🧁🤎

Between helping at the booth, passing out business cards, watching the parade and meeting princesses, I think they had a pretty good first day as my little Colby’s Kitchen Chaos crew. 😂

Definitely a memory I’m keeping. 🤎

We came home from Chandler Celebration Day and napped HARD. 😂😴🧁

Seriously though, THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by today, bought muffins, shared my posts, or supported Colby’s Kitchen Chaos in any way. 🤎

For my first vendor event, I learned SO much, and I’m already excited to do another one!

I’m currently looking for another event in October and/or November 👀 and already playing around with some new fall flavors.

🍂 Pumpkin may be making an appearance…
👀 And I’m working on a 7 Layer Muffin that I’m VERY excited about.

The menu will definitely depend on the event, but the baking chaos is far from over. 😂🤎

Growing up, one of my favorite traditions was baking cinnamon rolls for the last day of school — a dozen for my class and a dozen for the teachers. ❤️

I’ve been baking cinnamon rolls since I was 13, and even though my kids go to a much bigger school now, I still wanted to continue the tradition in my own way.

This year it was muffin boxes for each of their teachers and a box for the office staff to share. Their last day isn’t until Friday, but after working a 10½-hour shift yesterday, I stayed up baking so I could take them to school this morning instead of making the kids haul them on the bus Friday. 😅

And tomorrow I’m still baking for the bus driver because she deserves love too.

Baking has always been my love language. ❤️

Somewhere between the cinnamon rolls, muffin crumbs, kids missing the bus, late work nights, and kitchen chaos… God is still listening. 🤍

Yesterday we found out Tyson passed the IREAD test, so no retesting next year. Last night during prayer he thanked God for helping him pass his test and I about lost it. 🥺

Then tonight we were talking about prayer and how sometimes we have to be specific with what we’re praying for. I was telling him I’ve been praying for a better job with better hours, benefits, flexibility, and more time with them. A little while later he said:

“Mom, I prayed for a job where you can bake because you’re a really good baker.”

And honestly… that one got me. 😭

Little does he know that owning a bakery has been a dream on my heart for years. Sometimes God uses little voices to remind us not to give up on the dreams He planted there in the first place.

So tonight I’m just extra thankful:
For answered prayers.
For growing kids.
For little reminders from God.
And for this sweet little baking journey we’re on together. 🤍

Kitchen is officially closed 🍫🔥

Spent the day recipe testing and tweaking:
• Cinnamon rolls: chef's kiss 🤌🏼10/10 flavor, smell, and look
• Muffins: almost menu ready, just minor tweaks
• Brownie sandwiches: flavor 10/10… presentation/build 4/10 😂

The kids still rated everything 10/10… including the muffin batter they fought over.
Disclaimer: don’t eat raw eggs. Do as I say, not as I do. 😅

Tyson asked me tonight why I don’t work at a bakery.
I told him the dream is either:
• opening my own bakery with a commercial kitchen
or
• a bakery truck 🚚✨

Seriously though, kids are the best taste testers because they’ll be brutally honest. They’ll tell you if something tastes amazing or if it tastes like straight garbage 😂
