Thank you to the small but mighty crowd who came out and grabbed a loaf today, the cinny raisins came out particularly nice this round. Think I might have to have a thick slice, toasted and drenched in salted butter for a nice little afternoon snack. Maybe a quick Saturday nap first to recover from this morning's bake. It's a beautiful day today, so take care out there everyone, and be good to one another.

Down south in Sac this week for spring break, stopped in to today at their new location. (Last time I tried them out was in 2022 and I think they were in a different part of Sac then so I was a little lost finding them but I wanted to track down some good bread while I'm in town.)
Gotta say their country loaves are on point this trip. Great crumb structure, taste is slightly sweet without too much of an acid load, crust is smokey and carmelized and well steamed. Loved the new cafe space and got to chat shop for a minute about the bar layout and their remodel. Def check them out if your in Sac and I'll be back next trip for sure.
Hoping I can find another sourdough bakery or two to check out before we leave so let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks to everyone that came out today, it was great to meet some more of the neighborhood and share some bread. Also want to shout out to my cinny raisin fans, you the real ones, raisin haterz just don't understand. I wanted a cinny raisin for myself, haven't made any in months, which meant I had to bake twelve, so thank you for helping me find homes for the rest of them. Hope u enjoy them as much as I do, it'll always be my favorite. I'll be back baking in a week or two, not sure when yet, but will post on Stories when I do. Have a great weekend everyone! 🙃

Tried out a double score on some of the cinnys to maintain structure, happy with how they came out so I'll probably run with that in the future.

Shop day. While I keep playing the waiting game with the county I can start building the coffee tables and counterops for the cafe. I have some old redwood slabs lying around so I'm leveling with one of the hand planes I refurbished over the winter. I'll probably mount with some simple hair pin legs and will finish with burnt edge and poly. Gotta stay in budget somehow... 😬
