These incredible layered pastries are the perfect cross between a flaky croissant and a delicious doughnut! Light, buttery, and made with dozens of delicate layers, they’re a special treat we only make occasionally.

The catch? They take 3 days to make from start to finish, so we need to begin the process today!

After spending the last two weeks in Colorado while Maya attended apologetics camp, we're home, refreshed, and busy bringing our sourdough starter back to life! The mountains were beautiful, but we've missed filling our kitchen with the smell of fresh-baked bread.

We just returned from an incredible two weeks in Colorado while Maya attended an apologetics camp. Hannah and I even added a 14er to our accomplishments by summiting Pikes Peak! It was definitely one of the hardest hikes we’ve ever done, but we’re so thankful for the experience.

After some much-needed rest at home, we’re busy reviving our sourdough starter and getting back into the kitchen.

KIHMS Bakery will be taking orders for Friday, June 19! If you’ve been missing your favorite sourdough breads, bagels, scones, or other treats, send us a message to reserve your order.

“Happy” Memorial Day just doesn’t seem fitting does it?

This Memorial Day, I’ve been thinking about all those who have lost their lives serving our country. In this stage of life, it can be easy to feel removed from it all—as if it’s happening somewhere far away—but even Iowa has seen recent casualties in the Middle East. I think about the families who won’t get to celebrate birthdays together, the children growing up without a parent, and the loved ones carrying that loss every day. It sits heavy on my heart.

I’m incredibly thankful for the men and women willing to sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms—the freedom to raise our families, run businesses, speak our minds, disagree openly, and live the lives we do.

As a small thank you, we have a couple boxes of red and white sugar cookies we’d love to give to current or former military families. Thank you for your sacrifice and service. 🇺🇸
