We LOVE the Peanut Butter Cheesecake recipe from Preppy Kitchen.

Macronage to Minis

Did you know that Franch Macarons trace their roots back to Italy??

As always made dye free. These lovely pink macarons were made with just 7 grams of beet powder. I used Pies and Tacos recipe but scaled it 2.12x.

Aren't these mini macarons adorable??

I LOVE every part of how these came out.

Natural dye. Perfect purple. Nice shells.

I used purple sweet potato powder to get this color. So far the taste testers have loved it.

More testing coming...

The macarons last week gave so many fits I needed a redo.

Happy to say everyone of them turned out.

Since I have stopped using synthetic dyes I have been SOOOOO bored with them all looking the same.

These have powdered strawberries to add a pretty pale pink color. I also found so dye free sprinkles to 🎉🎉

I ordered some natural powders to play with more colors.

Stay tuned

Can you guess what went wrong?

All of these macarons were made from the same batter. Cooked at the same temperature and in the same oven.

The only difference was I had the audacity to buy a new baking sheet.

The aluminum was thicker and they didn't bake as even as my Nordic Ware does.

I baked two trays worth on the new sheet from two different batches and had the same results.

I shared this to show how small things can completely change these dramatic cookies.

Are you thinking of giving them a try? Let me know what questions you have.
