How I Met Your Bakery A 4th grade teacher that offers baked goods when she can. I operate under the Michigan Cottage Food Laws. I am happy to make and create baked goods just for you!

I am willing to take orders by phone and deliver within a 25 mile radius! Besides teaching, I love spending time learning how to make cakes! I can create a variety of cakes and cupcakes, where buttercream frosting is my specialty. I love to experiment with new flavors and colors, and hope to gain some serious cake-making experience!

Here’s a sneak peak of your options today at the Charlotte Market! There will be sugar cookie cut outs and chocolate chip cookie cutouts for sale (pick some up just for Dad!) and of course some delicious cinnamon rolls- 2 flavors original with buttercream and Biscoff flavored as well! With some Biscoff buttercream!? Freshly baked this morning! Hope to see you there! 2-6!

Hi! 👋🏻

We just moved her recently and I wanted to introduce myself now that we have settled a bit.

My name is Marissa Hoop. I wear many hats around here, but I am a mom to small boys, a teacher for 13 years (almost half has been in Holt), and most notably- owner of How I Met Your Bakery

I am always passionate about helping others, and of course, as a teacher/literacy specialist, I want to promote literacy and reading. One way I want to do that is by building a Free Little Library! (Similar to the one below). If you’re familiar with Charlotte- we just moved in on Cherry street and are almost right next to the high school- and I want to take advantage of it!

Here’s where I need your help! I’m looking for materials, time, or donations to help start this from the ground up- quite literally 🤣.

If anyone has any scrap wood they aren’t needing, or has any time and skills to build something similar to the picture. I would be forever grateful. Also, if you have any books to donate- I would love that. (Please send me a DM and we can get organized).

As a baker I would love to stick some sweet cookie treats in there too! Something fun for everyone.

There were so many great questions and it brought up so much great conversation! Everyone in both classes were so creative! I am thoroughly floored and so excited to continue my craft! If you were at class today- my hope is to find your email and connect you to my Amazon list!
